It isn't often I go around complimenting people.

So when I say "CCP, you've done an incredible job with this winter update". I seriously, deeply mean it.

I'm sitting here, at the login screen for sisi, and I'm dying to get in (It is currently down).
The pure awesomeness of what you have done is too numerous to place into paragraph, so I present what I am wowed by in list form:
+ Logon screen + Music (I seriously want to resubscribe)
+ Broken Jita Monument to remind CCP and the Players of what took place and proves that EVE is, once again that EVE players effect the world of EVE.
+ Nebula's. Serious eye-candy and really helps me get a feel for space. Definitely a LARGE step towards getting players to immerse themselves and feel like they are in the EVE universe and NOT on their family room chair.
+ Engine trails. I wasn't around for very long before they were removed. But they look better than I remember.
+ All the little fixes here and there.

This may be the most epic EVE update yet. Definitely raises the bar on almost all fronts.

However, as I've stated before, there is still a thorn poking EVE and unfortunately, it is the locked door that would open the doors to me and my corp to re-subscribe.

- Aurum.

Now, I'm not talking about walking in stations, I'm talking about Aurum as a separate currency. If there is some way to either get rid of it and/or turn over clothes production to the players, that would be the final key. I love EVE. I love WH space, I love what is currently being done and what will come. But until Aurum is removed, I'm afraid I can not resubscribe.

Final thoughts:
CCP, you're back on the right track. I applaud what you've done and what is to come. But anything having to do with Aurum is a poison to who you are and what EVE is. The players want to drive the clothes-production, why not let them?

Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy to let Aurum sit there and be used for vanity items if the current progression trend continues.

+1

Like WiS, I don't ever want to be forced to use it but I really don't begrudge anyone else enjoying their Space-Barbies.

Leaves only the fresh scent of pine.

I dont mind Aurum, as you can probobly tell from my goggles and shirt (from EVE is real reward thing dont worry), as long as it stays as a currency for vanity items that have no effect on gameplay

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

In the spirit of EVE's player-driven economy, clothing should have been craftable by players and sellable for ISK. Introducing a new currency just for micro-transactions wasn't necessary.

PS - if the clothing was $3 per item, I probably would have bought everything offered... but the prices have kept me from buying anything at all, based entirely on principle.

I agree with your general sentiment on the state of the game lately but I really don't mind Aurum for vanity items.
