shield myrm for null?

Hello all, ive just come back to eve after a good time away and im going into drone boat ships this is for sure.

my question is there any up to date sheild tank fits for a myrmidon? il be flying in null mostly against Guristas im told.

i want to run the easiest anoms out there to get me used to things while i train for my domi, also im mainly just looking for tank as i can figure out the rest i think but hey if you have a full fit go ahead and post, also im not interested in armor tanking so please only shields

p:s i have checked battle clinic and all i can see there is armor tanked or any shield tanked ones are from over a year ago

If you have not noticed already, NPC now have a big hate for drones. This leaves all but sentry drones useless as a primary weapon for ratting. Due to all possible limitations of the myrmidon, such as short lock range, drone bandwidth, and lack of mid slots to fit omnidirectional tracking links with a shield tank, the myrmidon might be one of the more difficult ships to use for ratting in anomalies.

A Domi is a vastly different story due to the extra sentry drone, and sentry drone bonuses as well as the ability to fit the tank you need along with a signal amp or two in the lows for the extra lock range.

If you go for a shield tank that takes up precious midslots for Omnidirectional Tracking Links which you definitely want with sentries, and as Mathias mentioned, using regular combat drones is very frustrating and can be even considered not worth it (as you'll lose lots of T2 drones which are expensive).

However it should be doable with a passive shield tank and sentries but I honestly don't have experience with this and I'm not sure of an exact fit. The Myrm can actually get a very impressive passive shield tank especially against Guristas.

Look up navy vexors, they seem to be the thing in guristas / serpentis anoms. You will want t2 heavies and T2 sentries, but seems like navy versions work fine too.

The fit should be approximatively:

- low: 3 shield power relays / 3 drone damage amplifiers
- mid: 2 large extenders / Afterburner / Kinetic resist
- hi slot: drone link augmentor, aggro gun
- rigs: 3 core defence field purgers

If you really want to stick to the myrmidon, try a similar fit: 3 purgers, mix dda with spr, ab, omnidirectional, shield tank. Your effective tank will be weaker as well as your dps (4 sentries vs 5 on the vexor).

bunch of Omni's in Mids...drone range in highs...2 sensor boosters...sit back and hit from 100K with curator II's or Bouncer II's...who needs tank out past 100 KM's
oops...didn't see about Gurista's...that's missiles...yuck...range tank won't work. Cheating NPC's and their long ranges.

ty all for your help, ye im basically just using the myrm while i train up to a domi so i just needed something to tank while i wait haha ty all for your input its bein a big help

Train for a Dominix, it's the right ship for the job. Even at BS IV it's more dps, at 5 days train time.
