hello again,

ive been using an orca for a long time. has anyone else noticed that one of the best things about an orca also seems a bit flawed.

the corp hanger never really gets used for what it was inteneded for since its cargo space is a premium for ore during mining ops.

the simple suggestion is to allow fleet member to dump ore into the ore hanger from space, the same as they can to the corp hanger. this would free up to corp hanger for use besides a ore router in every instance. there are situations whee it might be used for something else at this point its only if there's no mining at all.

might as well mention another simple change would be to rename corp hanger tabs to what the owner wants them to be.

niether of these change would unbalance the orca in my opinion anyone else feel these would be reasonable.

as always thanks for any posts

All corp hangars nomatter where they are, be it in ships, corp hangar arrays, assembly arrays, share the same names as the ones set up for your offices. This is probably because it's easier for CCP, but on the other hand, it allows control of access to them. Imagine if you could change the names in your ship, how can you expect to keep people out of the ones you don't want them looking into, it could be where you keep ship fittings, or anything else you want to limit access too.

There are a few ways of using the orca for an op.

Treat it like a giant jet-can, miners drop into the corp area and have the orca pilot move the ore from the corp area to the ore/cargo, then warping to station when full, downside is you could lose bonus for a short time.

You could have a hauler warping straight to the orca and picking from the corp area, and have the orca pilot refill this when it's empty (pain since it's only 1 iteron V's worth of space pretty much)

Have the orca parked a distance off the miners and drop one of the gang links and fit a tractor beam, that way the miners can split up a bit, less likely for them all to get ganked by a smartbomber etc, more work for the orca pilot, but could save a fleet of mining ships.

It would be nice to have a bigger corp area to make it a little more flexible, maybe have it increase with your level of Industrial Command Ships, but you could then argue the same for any ship with a corp hangar, but since eve isn't really meant to be afkminersonline then they expect pilots to do some work Shocked and move stuff around.

It could be worse, the rorqual only has 30k m3 corp, but it has got a bigger ore hangar and ship hangar.

I'd be happier if they fixed the inventory bugs.

That phantom ore that bugged when stacking. Now you cant move it, and your cargo hold claims to be holding 8000 more m3 that it really can.

The ore that fails to show in your miners cargo, until you stop the mining lasers and wind up with more than you can hold.

Not inventory, but a personal favorite: Which rorqual compression line is it? it's not line #1, its not the other line #1, maybe its this line #1, NOPE its that line #1. Whats the point in putting a number on them (yes they really do have a number column), if they're all the same?

Yes, we have all figured out ways to work with these ancient bugs, but should database errors really hang around for 8 years?
