now I understand, everybody keeps telling me here that all will love arenas and leagues so much that nobody will play anything else in the game anymore

and that is a bad thing because you need to have people who play stuff they don't like

those people here sure know what gaming is about

Here is also a piece of text off the CCP website, maybe that will help you understand why it won't happen (although that doesn't mean you can not do it, that is the beauty of a sandbox)

"The setting is Science Fiction, whereas most current offerings are Fantasy based. EVE does not employ sharding* or instancing** to split content and resources between players. This means that all players can interact with each other if they choose to do so. It also means that if you are famous in EVE, you are known by the EVE community, not by the population of one game server."

So an off limit arena would not happen, but again as mentioned this does not stop you from creating a league or arena type play somewhere in the game.

As many have said before, the tools are there for you to do so.

I'm not actually understanding the comparison to real world sports.

1: In the real world, you pay out of pocket so that you can be trained as a noob. Sometimes your parents or community will foot the bill as an investment in your future.

2: Eventually, as you get better, someone might see value in paying you to train and play, and pay for it for purely selfish reasons. You are now 'worth your keep', so to speak.

3: And eventually, if you get really really good, you make far more than a normal living, and someone pays for you to use equipment of extremely high quality. Everything is handled for you. All you have to do is play, but you are expected to perform at a very high level.

It's not different in Eve right now. All these steps exist in Eve on the live server.

Closed arenas are just stupid. If you want an arena, get contro of a system and invite people to fight somewhere in that system, with YOU providing the security for it to go uninterrupted.

Any kind of AT-bubble in a seperate system is everything Eve does not need. You want fair fights? Then go and secure an area, and make some money lose for prizes. Needless to say there'd be immediately a BLOPS in your tournament area if your security sucks.



On second thought: Just go over to Singularity, there you can lose all you want :D People are testing their EFT-results out there oftenly anyways to confirm thoughts about tank/damage/application/mobility, for exactly the lack of consequences.

I don't want to organize events I want to play in them, does tiger woods organize events? nope he's just playing

singularity is only a test server, there are no leagues and no arenas there, people just test stuff there

there is no matchup option, understand what I want before you make silly comments... blocked.

you don't play the game, so who should listen to you...

every gamer out there doing PvP is demanding this, at the end it will bring a big amount of new players to the game, I'm sure a lot of them will have a better motiviation to move into the metagame while they can have some easy fights each day in the arenas

it would be win win for everybody... at the beginning of the game its just not motivating at all, this is holding back a lot of players who do not come back, the arenas would keep them until they can fully dive into the real deal, SoV fights and all the other stuff

that layer of gamplay is completely missing, thats why a lot of ealry subscribers are lost
