My goal is to spend some time in wormholes scanning and ratting etc, what would be the best kind of ship to aim for in order to be able to fly cloaked? i am a single player with only 1 account at the moment so i need advice about ships that takes is best suited for this scenario. i like missiles so hope to go down that road.

many thanks.

I'd go Pilgrim, but it's not an all-out ratter, no...

What do you want to do in WH space?

If you're looking for easy cash from data/relic sites, sorry, WHs don't have that--you need to kill the sleepers first, and any class of wormhole where you can kill the sleepers solo in a cloaky won't have valuable loot in the data/relic cans.

Are you just wanting to use wormholes as shortcuts from A to B, where A is your starting system and B is anywhere else? If so, just use a covops.

Are you wanting to make money from killing sleepers? If you want to use just one ship for killing and it needs to be cloaky, your options are T3s (Tengu for missiles). But, you'll have gimpy dps, even more so if you fit a salvager in addition to cloak/probe launcher. You're better off having a second ship for salvaging, but you're still going to be running sites in a 500mil ISK ship only barely faster than you could be running them in a 100mil ISK ship.

If you're wanting to kill other players and are solo, your best options are a stealth bomber (great for killing industrials/miners/salvagers, ok at killing scan frigs) or T3 (great for killing site-running BCs, okay for killing industrials, not so good at killing scan frigs). Again, Tengu for missiles.

Hope that helps!

If you're completely solo then you can't really haul ships around since you won't have anywhere to put them without an Orca alt or a POS. What I'd suggest you do is get into a WH corp to teach you the ropes and so that you can use their base of operations.

As to what ship to fly cloaked, you basically want a CovOps to scan stuff down (which you'll be doing alot in a WH), a bomber for surprise attacks and cloaky pvp, and if you have the money and experience, a cloaky Proteus for WH hunting.

This. But I prefer a cloaky Loki.

If you really are going in with 1 character then I suggest any ship with decent DPS and a utility high and a MWD or AB. And you should stay in k-space and daytrip to C1 and C2 whs to run sites. You will need a salvager in your utility high. This can be fun but you will not get rich (quickly at least).

If you really want to live in a WH you sort of need a second account+character for a Noctis alt (salvaging skill 4), who can also perhaps carry extra ammo. A Marauder can make a good DPS ship in this scenario, especially a cruise Golem. Do a site with the DPS ship and then warp in the Noctis to salvage the wrecks. With good skills and fit on the Marauder you can do a Cosmic Anom in a C3 in maybe 20-25 minutes and it will be good for something like 50M loot on average. The nice thing about Marauders is the 3 utility highs (cloak+probe launcher+whatever) and various tanking and damage application bonuses, along with good damage and less ammo usage.

Get friends and fly whatever you want. W space ain't a solo thing. It can be but it's not worth nearly as much without a gang...a well organized gang
