  • Bitcoins, virtual currencies and EVE Online
  • CCP DrEyjoG, lead economist for EVE Online, had a great contribution in above linked Polygon article on Bitcoin, virtual currencies and EVE Online. • EVE Online Terms of Service Update
  • The EVE Online Terms of Service (ToS), Article 8, has been updated so that the ToS are now in accordance with the EVE Online EULA and Naming Policy. This update is not result of policy change, it is only an overdue adjustment of the ToS to be in accordance with all other policy related documents.

  • EVE Collector's Edition codes redeemed to the wrong character?
  • GM Karidor explains what you can do when you have redeemed the items from the EVE Collector's Edition to the wrong character: Please file a ticket into the "Billing & Account" category so that this can be looked into and fixed by the CCP Customer Support team.

  • Energy Nosferatu mechanics in PVE adjusted to reflect PVP behavior
  • Instead of splitting the Odyssey 1.1 mechanics of Energy Nosferatu (NOS) into a PVE and PVP version, the NOS mechanic for PVE is now working in the same way as for PVP. NOSing NPCs in a ship class higher than yours should be very easy. CCP Rise welcomes questions if further clarification is required.

  • CCP Sledgehammer looks into Mac issues
  • CCP Sledgehammer gladly investigates all feedback regarding EVE Mac clients slowing down considerably over time.

  • YouTube partner monetization of EVE Online videos
  • Currently monetization using CCP's Intellectual Property is usually not an option. CCP Stillman however raises this issue to our legal team to see what can be done for example for monetization of player created EVE Videos on YouTube. There are indeed many fantastic player created EVE Videos available! Check the My EVE forum section for a first overview.

  • Locating EVE username and password when using Steam
  • CCP Sunset answers the question regarding EVE username and password of EVE Steam accounts - you will use your Steam credential to log into EVE via Steam. Further information is available from the Steam support.

  • The Golden Capsule ... how does it work?
  • The Golden Pod is a bonus item of the EVE Collector's Edition, but how does the Golden Pod work? CCP Paradox explains that the Golden Pod springs into existence when you plug in a special implant into implant slot 79 - that implant is not removed when being pod killed or when clone jumping.

  • CCP Soundwave send off party
  • After Lead Game Designer CCP Soundwave announced his departure from CCP, players are organizing a farewell party in game with fireworks and...

When is CCP going to accept Bitcoin for subscription payment?

Bitcoin Hegemony is recruiting. We're a cryptocurrency endorsing corp focused on PvP. Both newbies and veterans accepted.

I don't mean to wine, but CCP never comes to the mid-west (usa). Believe it or not, there is more than just corn fields and flat plains out here.

If there is good activity, chances are that CCP will appear sooner or later. Please keep on the good work with gatherings and meetings - they are so much fun!

You are aware that except for Fanfest all gatherings are organised and performed by the players them self?

The eventual participation by CCP Marketing and/or Community Teams are them both using and supporting local activities.

Ranging from Blue tags cheering you on, shipping devs with or without goodie bags or poaching your staff.

Eve is all about player generated content, even out of the game ;)

    edit:
And thanks for the post Phantom, your weekly summaries might be the most important post on the forums.

CCP Falcon on Atlanta Falcons Falcon from NFL Themed Eve Ship Backgrounds

After Jed Stevens created NFL themed EVE ship background images, it was not a great surprise to see CCP Falcon getting ecstatic after spotting the Atlanta Falcons Falcon. Well done, Jed Stevens!

Jed Stevens (of Gentleman's Agreement) did not create the NFL skins. These were created by another alliance mate of ours, Marne DeVille. His design studio service, Dogface Design, can be found here. Jed simply posted the link to the album on the Eve-O forum. Just want to make sure the right person is getting credit Blink

I remember wasting a lot of time money and frustration not knowing which modules fit my ship. I simply wanted to fill all or most of my slots but there is no way to know which modules i need cuz most random modules dont fit any particular ship. Either i did not have the skills, or not enough power/cpu or simply the module doesnt fit there. ARGHH!

I believe later on they built the 3 boxes up top that glows green or red that tells if they work in the ship you are flying but even that wont tell you if your adequate or a proper set up to your needs.

*What we need is a halo deck to use any/ all modules to see what fittings i need before i save up money and find out that the module doesnt fit or i cant use it or if its even useful.

*What we need is a halodeck also to train PVP before going out there and loosing your ass trying to learn to pvp against the pros.

EVE has such a learning curve. There are still some things I dont know. It really took me 6 months before i could even start to really play eve and il guess it will take a year before you can start to be effective at anything. Many players wont wait that long. :(

    Shorten the learning curve.

    Sincerely,

    Godric

I seem to remember a while back ... This.

    Edit:
This is what the majority of us love about Eve. It's difficult.
There are various tools out there, Evemon, EFT, battle clinic and such that will help
you to a curtain extent but nothing will beat joining a corp/Alliance who are willing to
teach you what you want to know. The obvious ones are Red v Blue, Nexus etc etc.
Eve after all is a social game and relatively few go it alone.

Agreed with you, Ryuichi. The main aspect that makes EVE unique amongst the other MMORPGs is time and patience!

Eve is hard and long. Shortening the curve or allowing shortcuts will allow new people to jump into high-end scenarios, or for good people to make an alt and instantly get the alt on the same level as his/her main character, thanks to the isk from the main. It would completely throw eve off its tracks and throw it into a spiral of despair.

I found, at first, the learning times to be tedious... but to be honest, how quickly are you going to learn something as complicated as how to drive a massive battleship in under 20minutes? I think they're short enough!
