Weren't Blackwater already name changed?

Well..then Eve would need to be banned, as it is misrepresenting a Biblical character that got humans banned from Eden forever.

And as expected, if one interprets the ToS changes as they are written, roughly 1/4 of the game is in violation.

Just as planned...

I'm really upset you didn't post this on the GSF forums so I could watch deadtear rightly ban you for like 6 months.

I'm glad your blog, the creatively named, "EVE Online Blog," is tackling this serious issue with hard-hitting journalism. Bringing the investigative power of a crack writing team of one with the collective reporting experience of 24 hours is sure to blow the lid off this whole scandal.

This is your Watergate moment. Your TOSgate. Your Space Pulitzer.

I especially love the part where he acknowledges the undeniable fact that EVE is financially supported primarily by diehards and vets, but then asserts that CCP should cater to (and coddle) new players to secure a long term source of revenue. Which, by his own admission, is a source they already have.

I mean, I had already figured out that CCP is clearly worried about Star Citizen and X-Rebirth stealing away all the nubs who want space games, and was overcompensating by successively nerfing the game to make it easier for casuals.

But hey, it was nice to hear him spell it out with all of his fallacious statements.

....and the silly season continues.Roll

Although I thoroughly enjoy goon tears (as everyone knows, they are the best tears) QQ'ing on the forums solves nothing. If any of you feels that strongly about the corp or alliance names mentioned, then there is a perfectly good petition system to bring them to the attention of the GMs.

I apologise that i havent quite got the layout and wording correct, this is a new blog site and I am in the process of the design phase. But that shouldnt stop you from writing should it? As i said in my introduction not everyone will agree with what i write, your not supposed to. thanks for your feedback

The point i was making was purely the fact the vets are long term players, soon they will leave its a fact. So whose going to fill the void?

If you believe someone is in breach of the Terms of Service, file a support ticket to relay the information to the GM Team, rather than posting on the forums.

Alternatively, if you'd like to talk about the most recent re-wording of the Terms of Service, feel free to do so in the appropriate thread.

Oddly, it's not "a fact". Actually, just from your statement that the vets have stuck around as long as they have means that they have more invested than the average "play for 3 months and drop it" MMO player (which, btw, is an industry trend verifiable by looking at the sub numbers of the last 3 released MMOs).

So, what makes you assume they will leave?

Further, I would question the wisdom of anyone who suggests leaving behind an already verified, long term, commited playerbase as a source of revenue in order to cater to the casuals, who as mentioned before don't have the best track record for sticking around.

You know, that's in fact pretty much how Eve's spiritual predecessor, Ultima Online, died.

So why on earth should anyone listen to you, when you are suggesting the adoption of a business model that has buried every MMO to try it except for the elephant in the room? Whom, in fact, you would be directly competing against by doing so, also a historical recipe for failure.
