Two major EvE devs gone in a month's time, to Riot games.

Major changes to the point of nerfing a distinct play style that was particularly "dark and harsh" in a game that is supposed to be particularly "dark and harsh."

"Former" EA employees filling up the ranks.

When will the customers who have kept this game afloat, and attracted new players, via the events they created (i.e. Burn Jita, 6VDT, so on and so on), be given an idea where the game is heading?

Ever?

Or will we just continue to get spin on the level of The Mittani spinning the Fountain War? You do remember The Mittani, right? One of your players?

Or did you simply forget that EVE Online exists, because literally all you have done for the game is switch lines of codes for close to 4 expansions now, without adding any really meaningful content?

It is bad when even CSM members (our voice) are questioning things like the TOS changes, and are not getting proper responses...just more spin.

I think it is time for a press release, giving a state of affairs, or at least some sort of reassurance that the game we are playing is not headed into the shitter. That would be great..............for a change.

No rant intended, there is nothing but truth and the seeking of truth in my OP. I just want to see if CCP has the backbone to actually answer legitimate player concerns, not just of mine, but looking at the associated threads for each of these topics....about 75% of the player population.

I completely agree. Some transparency would be nice.

I think this needs to be a bit more like les mis.

"Do you hear the pilots sing? Singing the song of discontent? It is the music of the neckbeards who won't pay your bucks again! When the next expansion comes with level of content = none, it is an expansion that has been quite poorly done."

There's been nothing wrong with the new expansions. They've come a long way in improving ship balance, to the point where I resubbed upon hearing of the changes the HACs and Command Ships. Improving existing systems is far preferable to introducing half-baked content that doesn't jive with the rest of the game.

-That said-

I'm totally down to start shooting monuments over the TOS changes. My resub will be very brief if this whole mess doesn't get answered in some way.

Exactly. I am not even asking for the internal business strategy. I would just like to know if the game I spend hours, nay, years playing is going to remain true to it's "ideas," or whether or not we are just going to get more endless spin. I was a new character during Incarna-gate...but now I actually understand the reasons players revolted. It is ridiculous.

There are not enough scoundrels to make much of an impact in shooting the monument.

We're an unruly lot, so it would never work, but the best thing would be to not play for 2 weeks. All the bad guys, gankers, scammers, and everyone else otherwise known as "content creators" just not play. Let Eve be Eve with PvE content. Even the carebears would stop rejoicing after a few days when they realized how unbelieveably bad the PvE content is without at least the threat of someone peeing in their cheerios. It won't happen, because we'd stab each other in the back by logging on and plucking all the ripe fruit for ourselves, because we're bad guys. But its a thought.

Not saying EVE is dying, but if you remember correctly, the last time the CCP fortress was in silent mode, login number were at the lowest they had been, and only hand-wringing and legitimate apologies were what brought players back.

Did they not offer more transparency, after that disaster?

It is none of your business how they run their business first off. Last I checked CCP is a private company. And if you were actually IN the business you might have a better idea of what is going on.

pft - I hate teiricide - The TOS changes and teiricide are two sides of the same coin. Teiricide is all about dumbing down the game play - by giving each ship a role, its CCP's way of telling you how to fit and fly your ship. Teiricide is a direct stab at the sandbox. Now with the TOS changes they are doing the same thing to the meta game. Clearly while CCP wants to market eve as a dark and dangerous sand box - the reality is much different. We have a lot more in common with WOW and similar games then CCP wants folk to believe - for instance, eve pvp is basically a large safe area with battlezones where consensual combat can take place - sure the safe area is not wholly safe because you can be suicided but the actual risk is very small. Hell, we even have dueling now. And the difference between eve and other games is getting smaller all the time as CCP tries to broaden the appeal of its game.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

Wrong. It is completely our business as we are what drives their company and their product is something we all enjoy.

Your reply is basically, "Pah, you uneducated plebe! Join their business so you can be in the know! I DISDAIN THE WORKING CLASS!" - the image is even better if you're sitting in a chair sipping Cognac.

Don't want their business strategy. I want to know that the game I have spent years playing is going to still be playable in the form we have become accustomed to, without the spin.

After all, I was not the CEO of CCP, who offered to keep the playerbase informed of major changes. What info have they given? Regarding any of these things? None...just spin.
