Still, he has point... there are many things in EVE that are overly convoluted and complex... research, manufacturing... those are years old systems that never have really been revisited/optimized.

Firstly
That's not even remotely his point. He want's to basically do whatever he wants at a moments notice, without having to work up to it. He doesn't see the point in learning how to play, he wants instant "I win" buttons. People like EVE the way it is. We don't need some ponse coming along telling us it should be a cross between WoW and starcraft and telling us we simply don't understand. If he doesn't want EVE, he can **** off and find another game to play. We honestly couldn't give a ****. The community doesn't need short-sighted retards.

Secondly
While the systems are not to simplest, the work well and have done for years. The problem with "revisiting" these is determining how to change them without destroying the entire system, as it's a live system. You can just go "you know what, I think we should make blueprints simpler!" then screw over everyone that's worked on building up an industry for years.
I would also say that if I had to pick something to be changed, manufacture and research would not even remotely be at the top of the list. Sure there's a lot of button clicks, but beside that, the system works. Corp security and POS security is something I would say need to be looked at.

No, that's not what "needs to change". And it's not going to change. You can ***** and whine and cry all you want, but CCP will never implement your arena. EVE is EVE. Not WoW. Get used to to or **** off, I honestly don't care which.

I am impressed that there are so many Gamers who like Leagues and Arenas, and Eve is a giant Sandbox, but it seems no one cares to build such a thing on his own hands.

You know why this game is amazing? Because content is not directly handed by the developers. They give you a pixelated universe, codes for ships, and graphics for guns, and you can do whatever you want with it.

Right now on the test server a group of guys are actually holding a periodic tournament called the SCL (syndicate competitive league I think). They are just a group of players that decided hey arenas are fun, so that is what they did. Not only that but CCP actually helped them do it and actually sponsored them, because they aren't whiny little kids that want everything handed to them, you can go create a panda character in another game if that is your cup of tea.

So if you want arena fights you can make a team and participate in that league, or you know create a league of your own, the tools are all there, the only limit is your imagination (and sometimes CCP's terrible mechanics , but only sometimes)

Just thought this deserved another read by our beloved Harry.

people don't understand that leagues and arenas are additional gameplay options

its no change, its additional stuff for the gamers

people here are scared of additional content, never seen that in any community

they fear WiS, they fear Arenas... so funny

if you want to play eve like you do, just go on doing it, no need to go into Arenas

there are industrials, traders, miners, there are people playing SoV warfare and there will be people pvping in Arenas

its as easy as that

What are you talking about?

EVE is a sandbox : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandbox_game

That means that if you want arenas, go and create/organise one.. that's all, if you don't like to do that then unfortunately it is not going to happen.

I honestly think you might be missing the point a little on what a sandbox game is meant to be, and I am not being horrible at all, just re-think for a second here.

I disagree

It's got nothing to do with fight you moron. It's got to do with you wanting to destroy a game's economy just so you can get repeatedly rinsed in an arena. Oh, you though maybe you'd win? You are awful at EVE, so after a week of getting continuously dunked, you'd be back on here whining about how you want another change to make it easier for you.

You are a short sighted prick that has no intention of taking on board anyone else's opinions. You want EVE your way, and say **** everyone else. You are the problem. You know NOTHING about "gaming future".

Every post you make is offensive, continuously telling everyone else they don't get it and they are just scared of the truth. But the real truth is this: You are a pathetic waste of space, and honestly the best thing CCP could do for the EVE community is ban you from posting all of this ****.

is the game destroyed because people play on SiSi for hours? no... the same effect arenas will have at the economy

different types of gamers play different parts of the game, some however will play all of them...

don't be so paranoid, nobody will destroy "your" EvE

I'm just tired searching the gooncaves for targets, your docking-games are anyoing

I want eve to have gameoptions for everybody, yes...

but you just want everybody to play your style, however thats too boring for most of the gamers out there

Again a sandbox will allow you to do these options you are talking about, but they will not be implemented the way you'd like them to be, it is against EVE and what a sandbox is meant to be.

If you really don't understand how it will effect the economy to have fight removed from regular space, and moved to indestructible tournament areas, then you don't understand EVE. If you don't understand why having these areas off limits to gankers and pirates is a dumb idea, you don;t understand EVE.

Only YOU have problem finding fights. Nobody else has problems finding them. So the problem is YOU, not the lack of a crappy arena system.

only bad gameplay kills games... we all know you want your Galaxies back, but this is EvE not Galaxies

galaxies died because people got bored of it, the devs wanted to save it, thats why they tried some stuff

arenas has nothing to do with that

nobody hold you up doing your stuff in Eve like before, Arenas is just an addition

if you and all others love your playstyle so much you sure will go on doing it after arenas are implemented as well

Of course they won't happen the same. If PvP players have the option of Regular PvP vs Unlimited ship replacement arenas, of course they are going to do some arenas. That means demand for replacement ships and modules will go down, as will isk flow between PvP and industrialists.

But that destroys what EVE is about. Every action in EVE is supposed to have consequences. You want to add the ability to avoid those consequences.

The only way to do arenas (without the test server) is like RvB have done. They do arranged PvP on various scales, all still part of the economy.

Huh?
Pot, kettle, black.
We've been given a sandbox, and we can all play in in however we want. You are the one asking for a construction crew to come in and build a permanent fort in a corner of the sandbox so you can play in it without having to build it yourself.
