What is "Volley"?

Lenghty explanation

Let's make it sound simple k?

All your launchers (or turrets) fire a single shot together.

The total value of their combined damage is your volley.

without bs5 the navy raven will do the most damage.

you seem to know how to manage aggro already, so the best thing to improve is damage.

also to nitpick it is a missile velocity bonus, not missile flight time bonus. faster missiles are less likely to be hit by defenders so it is a nice bonus to have.

I'm getting to the point that I can do level 4 missions with increasing success and so my profits are picking up. (make 60m is loot, salvage and tags on mission) and so I'm getting to the point I can think about getting a navy faction battleship.

I was going to go for the Navy Raven, however I could instead go for the slightly cheaper navy scorpion or cross train to unlock the pirate rattlesnack.

Which one do people advise me to go for?

A friendly question, Paul -

How adept are you with battle cruisers, destroyers and frigates? Hve you trained those skills up to at least 4 or 5?
How about the supporting skills? Missiles, guns and drones have excellent supporting skill trees that raise the damage, useable range and tracking ability of those weapons systems over the bonuses you may get for the ship skills alone.

It's tempting to want to jump into the heavy hitters as soon as you can, but that won't make up for skills and far more importantly, experience. Skills don't make you smarter, and smarts are the key to success and survival in EVE.

I fly a Navy Drake for al llevel 3 missions and some level 4s. For now, that's as far as I need to go. I've learned to use relatively cheap T1 fits for low-sec and potential PvP situations. Don't get frustrated when you get blown up as you most certainly will. Sit back and think through each engagement. Profit from the experience.

I've learned to use EVE Survival mission reports to assess what I need for these missions (http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=HomePage) in the way of damage and resists, and you should, too if you aren't already. Learn to love EVE-Survival - it'll save your ass in more ways than one. Every mission affects your stnadings, and that implications.

My corp does group level 4s to give us FNGs a sanse of what it takes to survive and succeed in those missions. You can get valuable intel on how effective your fits are by operating this way. You may still lose a ship or two or four, but that's how you learn.

So I'd say get really really good at flying frigates, cruisers and battle cruisers first. Get the experience and learn from it. Swinging a bigger club won't necessarily get you what you want.

Good luck and fly safe.

active in other games I think. Row and I are the only 2 active in Guns it looks like, and I think for the most part we both just ship spin/skill train. usually when I jump on TS, which isn't all that often these days, it is too late to catch people. I really should try logging in earlier sometime.
