Mining drone boost ideas

I have been mining for awhile and have realized that mining drones are never used (Mainly because of the need for ratting drones). I think that mining drones could be boosted or given boosts by different mining ships.

I had an idea for a ship that mainly uses drones to mine.

Mineral class mining drone carrier
---General Stats---
Role boosts
50% bonus to mining drone mining amount
25% bonus to drone agility
Industrial command ship bonus
5% cargo capacity bonus
1 extra mining drone controlled per level

50 Mbits per second
100 m3 drone bay capacity

another Idea was to give a slight mining drone boost to the orca to add a drone carrier.

Any suggestions would be nice!

Actually, I do use mining drones quite a bit when I mine; they're a fairly decent boost to my mining rate due to the time I invested into upping my drone skills. In hi-sec, for instance, on my barge I use a single scout drone to fend off the belt rats (it rips them apart with ease) and then use 4 mining drones to up my rate; although even having the one scout drone is overkill since the belt rats don't do hardly any damage to me anyways - I could just let them sit there and ping away ineffectually at my shields if I wanted to and field a full 5 mining drones instead.

That said, I do like the idea of mining drones getting some kind of love - including the idea of having some kind of ship that is built around the idea of pure mining drone swarm mining. I've often mentioned in in-game chat channels that I'd like to see mining ships that descend on asteroid belts with just mining drones as though they were a swarm of locusts since that strikes me as being something that would be pretty cool to see. make it so that mining vessels can hold 10 drones, 5 for mining and 5 for defense, easy enough.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

Like the Exhumers can already.

T2 drone with Max Skills (Mining drones 5 and Drone interfacing 5) can add something like 20% mining boost to and unboosted Mack. Its only when you add good mining boosts do they become less effective relatively speaking.

My mining toon has max mining drones and they work just fine. If anything i would like to have them affected by mining boosts.

PS, a Mining drone carrier would just turn into the next max AFK mining ship. Set 1 drone per rock, return a few hours later and repeat.

The idea of the carrier would not be to outperform an exhumer but build off of the the drone's range.

Be a bit tough when the rats kill the drones so I don't think it would turn into the next "max AFK mining ship" IMHO.

Rats don't target drones very often and you could just use T1 since they are super cheap.

You could also have a Single T2 DPS drone that would in 99% of the item kill off the belt rats.

I have always wanted this too since it combines two of my favorite Eve aspects, drones and mining. It wouldn't need to be carrier size, give it (or several versions of the model) yield and hold in line with barges or exhumes. I also like the +1drone control per level since I miss the days of 15the drone domi's.
