delete * from all databases
where itemname = defender missile

Since there is no counter against lazors, projectiles or hybrid charges I don't see a point of having them.

I disagree. I have used Defenders with good success in PvE against Caldari and other missile rats. I don't think they are viable for PvP, however.

First tracking disruptors do not disrupt missile launchers at all and second no one should have an anti missle missle.
Secondly tracking disruption is ewar and has nothing to do with anti missle missiles.

It is painfull enough that any boat can simply outrun missiles by speed or distance. I see no point in them besides annoyance and the ongoing hate against a once really good weapon system.

Tracking disrupt doesn't effect the charge itself, but still hurt the overall dps like defender missiles ..

I think you mean "DELETE FROM..." because you would only use a * in the context of "SELECT...".

FYI saying "delete star...blah blah" sounds ********.

I wasn't saying that that was sql code. That pseudo-code was just implying that these type of missiles don't really have a purpose.
I also know that tracking disruption is a good counter against turret fire, but there is no module you simply clamp in your high slot and fire anti-turret ammo. That is what I meant when I said "weapon".

Just because you cannot find a purpose to use them does not mean that such a purpose does not exist.

then make every npc use those tracking disruptors just like defender missiles

Defender missiles are a shìtty holdover from the early days of Eve. Most mission npcs use different kinds of e-war that already affect missile boats as much as turret boats. We have:

Ecm. (Guristas)
Sensor damps. (Serpentis)
Nos. (Blood raiders)
Target painters. (Angels)

Only tracking disruptors are useless against missile boats. To my knowledge, only one npc faction uses tracking disruptors in missions and that's Sanshas.

(If any of the above information is wrong or incomplete, please correct me.)

Yet every npc faction you meet in missions fires defender missiles. This is CCP's way of saying "fuсk missile users, they deserve to have it worse in missions than everyone else".

So this is how you balance them: Make it so that only Sanshas use tracking disruptors and defender missiles. Everything's equal again.
