This is such weak minded drivel it's crazy. THIS is why griefers and gankers exist.

You know why I don't get griefed? Because I protect myself, when someone (rarely) gets something over on me, you know what they get from me in local? "GF". That's it.

You know what I did when I was a kid and someone took my football away? I went and get a bunch of other hard core kids, got my ball back, and took the bastards nintendo (which my dad made me give back, he then taught me that recoving what's mine is right, but retribution is beneath a Man).

The above is why I like to call attention to the misfit, to the people not mentally suiited to play this "Virtual Thunderdome" called EVE. EVE is a mad house, it's the "bad part of town" of the MMO universe, Grand Theft Auto with space ships. Even though I personally don't take part in ths madness, I understand it, I accept it, and I made sure I was mentally prepared for the pure screwery that people will throw at me.

That pure screwery IS EVE. Why people who can't take would chose to play EVE when most MMOs (including space based MMOs like TOR and Star Trek Online) actively protect players from the things EVE encourages, well, thats way beyond my ability to understand.

If a person is so weak he actually cries when something bad happens (or gets so epicly butthurt that they have to pursue the player out of game), he not only needs to no play EVE, he needs mental health intervention.

It's got **** all to do with being weak minded. Whats it's got to do with is whether or not is it morally wrong to purposely ruin someone else's fun, knowing you are doing it purely because you can.
The football point you are proving. You reacted emotionally to someone taking your football (your source of fun) away. That's exactly the same as someone responding emotionally to someone stomping all over their fun in EVE. I imagine what you are trying to say is "go get in game mates and beat them up", but firstly the fun is already gone at this point, and blowing people up won't bring that back. Secondly, with alts and such, you can't fight back a lot of the time, if you get scammed or ganked, you pretty much have to just move on.

At the end of the day EVE is the same as any other MMO. It's a bloody game. We play it for fun. A lot of the miner bumping crowd feel it's their personal mission though to ruin others fun to have theirs. Within limits, Sure that's part of the game. But when they can already see someone is actually getting upset, that's when it should end. Pushing them more and more to try to break them as much as possible is pathetic, and not in the spirit of EVE.

oh dear. making such references and misrepresenting other player groups is certainly not part of the rules of eve online

Who's misrepresenting?
Their beliefs are the same.
Their goals are the same.
Their name is the same.

The fact that they hide it so they don't get renamed means nothing.

i don't see the similarities, what are they?

Rules of conduct:

3) You may not organize nor be a member of any corporation or group within EVE Online that is based on or advocates any anti-ethnic, anti-gay, anti-religious, racist, sexist or other hate-mongering philosophies

4) You may not use “role-playing” as an excuse to violate these rules. While EVE Online is a persistent world, fantasy role-playing game, the claim of role-playing is not an acceptable defense for anti-social behavior. Role-playing is encouraged, but not at the expense of other player. You may not create or participate in a corporation or group that habitually violates this policy.

The much praised NEW HALAIMA CODE OF CONDUCT.

...and that's deffinatly the last from me that I ever will say about that matter here, cause I'm stunned and physically sickened that, in this day and age, people can actually accept, let alone adhere to pseudo fascist dribble like that.

Miners are neither an ethnic group, a sexual orientation, a religion, a race or a sex, so the New Halaima Code of Conduct can't violate those. Do you have any proof that the Code/the New Order advocate hate-mongering?

Well, mostly because I just entered the discussion. I'd like you to present an argument to me. If you have a valid one, surely you can present it, right?

Do you really need to be given a reason for why it's no OK to purposely ruin another persons fun with the intent of further winding them up should they express their upset towards you? We're not talking about whether it's allowed in game, we're talking about whether or not it's morally right or wrong to pick a weak target, then bully them.

And you realise what the new order really is right?

One thing people should keep in mind is that "morals" are relative. What you believe to be moral, someone else might not.

Everyone has their own perspective so labeling some actions as "moral" and some as "immoral" doesn't always translate between people, and really can't be used to "win" an argument.

Enforcer of the New Halaima Code of Conduct and the New Order of Highsec

If you agree to abide by the Code as outlined by James 315 on http://www.minerbumping.com/ and accept the terms of the New Order, you may contact me in order to buy a mining permit granting you the exclusive right to mine in New Order territory under our protection.

Mining permits are being sold at the price of 10 million ISK per character and are valid for one year each - subject to forfeiture in case of rule violation.

Should you choose to oppose or try to ignore the New Order, you shall suffer the consequences.

This is why the game allows it but it isn't a rule enforced.

"Fun" being relative... BECAUSE it is a game.

If my fun is bumping you off the rock you're mining and laughing at you, it's not a moral decision or in question at all. It's me manipulating space pixels.

I have the same risks, same chances, and same tools any one else has.

Your fun and my fun are not the same (can be).

A lot of people talk about how mining is "fun" because they socialize and it's "relaxing" but the act of mining isn't what that does.

The socializing does. They can do that docked, over ts3, whatever.

Since they undocked, they are in the same pond as everyone else, and unfortunately, someone is bound to pee in it. But that is a known, and accepted, risk of playing in Eve Online.

The NO agents also have the right to extract a mining permit and also have the right to blow you up.
