Hey, I read all the stickies and they don't say anything about this.

I went to log in and the launcher wouldn't work.
So i tried eve repair, just gave me error messages.
Tried many times, everything I could think of.

So I deleted the client and now it won't let me reinstall it? wtf?
I download the installer, run it, and it starts to work and then says "archive extraction failed: 3."
I tried it 15 times.
Rebooted, tried a manual install, filled a petition ....

What am I missing?

I found that the installer is trying to access a page or metalink or something that isn't there, I get a 404 error trying to access it.
Is part of Eve down?

I am having the same issue. I also copied my wife's copy of eve over to my computer, and that works until a patch comes out, at which point my eve won't update. So every-time a patch comes out I have to recopy eve over to my computer from hers and it's really starting to **** me off. I have tried every download link on the eve sites I can find, and nothing works. I tried turning off firewall, making sure there was an exception, etc. etc. but cannot figure it out.

It's something to do with my computer, not my IP, because my wife's computer 3 ft away can update just fine, but I can't.

I would appreciate a serious attempt to help from someone instead of just the regular trolling.

Try the issues forum where they try and resolve issues?

I am having the same problem. I submitted tickets days ago, no reply. I emailed for help days ago, no reply. I tried to call to get help, they tell me that I can only get help via tickets or email....

I am trying to be patient but if I can't play then I won't pay. If you don't intend to help me just let me know and I will close all of my accounts. I have already deleted the game, but I can't reinstall and while it was installed the repair feature didn't work either.

Now when I try to reinstall I get a message on the client installer "Archive extraction failed: 3."

You have my number on file, you have my email address, you have my submitted tickets. All I am asking for is just a little customer service for something I pay more for per year than any other item I own that isn't a house or car..... and even my toilet paper has a customer service line where someone will answer and offer help. This is getting irritating.

Same issue here. Monday patch broke my client. Online Installation fails with an error of not finding a target paylod. Offline installation fails at extracting something.

EVE is not installable anymore.

Same problem here. On Monday everything was ok. Now the client just won't update.

If I try using exefile.exe to download patch the launcher just stops @15% of package verification.

I thought it might be the copied files having different shortcut paths or something, so I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall eve.

No download link works from the website. I've turned off firewall, used different browsers (all set to default when used), uninstalled antivirus programs, run the launcher as administrator, etc.

When you go to the offline installer page, I can download the executable, but both payloads fail.
--- In chrome it just takes forever, then says it can't find the webpage.
--- In firefox it downloads a 0 kb file with the proper name and .7z extension.

I don't understand, my wife's computer is a copy of mine, we have the same OS, same programs, same everything. Why can't I download the game?

I've been playing for four years and never had this much trouble before, not even with Singularity.

My guess atm is, that they messed something up on the web- / file-server side.

1. I've seen a decompression failure message in one of the launcher logs before I deinstalled the game. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce it with my backup.

2. I did download the offline installer payloads. But the file sizes do not match with size infos I've seen on the web. The installer fails with an extraction error. CCP does not publish file sizes nor do they publish checksums.

3. The online installer fails to find any payloads.

It's a pity, CCP does not communicate with players here regarding these issues. Several of my characters have already empty skill training queues by now.

All you can do is file a petition and hope they get it sorted out asap.

My petition has been answered, yes. Got some Information to work on, can get online for the moment at least and will send them my results before downtime.

Did a new install keeping the existing data in the user section. My hope was, that the multiple client install would be preserved, though this might break some things. This worked somehow for all clients but one.

Launcher is still not working. It doesn't even get step 1/4 to compolete (client check). Login is possible, but game cannot be launched. Exefile.exe does get around this though.

The "Archive extraction failed: 3." error signals a corrupted archive. I feared that much sinc e both browsers I have on my system displayed wierd behaviour downloading data from the support site. Since they work just fine with most other sites, this is something specific with CCPs webservers.

No idea, why CCP is not publishing any information about filesizes or checksums along with the download links, so the user could do some simple integrity checks, before having to contact support.

Since browsers run into problems I decided to try something else and used wget for Windows to dowload the payloads. Good old wget worked like a charm <3.

I still had one issue though: The installation tool was unable to cope with an existing but empty \CCP\EVE directory. I had to manually delete the empty \EVE subdirectory. Silly.

I'm going to trash the whole installation next week and start a fresh one. After all vacation time is precious.

Im glad someone is getting help GM Arcade was supposed to be helping me but he hasn't really helped AT ALL. He keeps blowing me off by telling me to do really stuppid things like send him files from the launcher when I had already stated in the ticket that I had tried repair tool, tried restarting, tried downloading from different browsers, and EVEN THAT I HAD ALREADY DELETED ALL FILES in the attempt to reinstall completely. I first did a reinstall, when that didn't work I deleted everything.

After already stating that, he still replies with crap that tells me he didn't read what I wrote. So the response was horse crap and so is thw customer service for this game. I quit playing EA games because of crap customer service. Guess I am quitting this one for the same reason. I have cancelled one account, two more to go and then I no longer need to worry about what CCP does about customer service.

Oh look....even my toilet paper company has a customer service line. And Eve Online doesn't.... Imagine that.

Even a crap company has more respect for its customers than CCP.

Hey guys, I found a program that allows me to download the offline install files. I don't know why it wasn't working before, but this program was able to download the files fine.

http://winget.en.softonic.com/

It's easy to use, you just right click the link, hit copy link location, then open up a download dialog in the program and paste the link and hit download.

My files are still downloading, so I'll edit this post with the result of my attempted reinstall.
