A common problem in the great PVP debate is that people think the only PVP involves shooting.

So it's correct to state that logging in at all is consent to PVP.

Whether you shoot and get shot or not has nothing to do with it. Market moguls compete for buy and sell competitively. Explorers who can scan hack and analyze faster get the loot. Miners who can suck the rocks faster get the ore. If it takes you 3 hours to run one mission, at whatever your highest level, you will fare worse than someone who can run several of the same kind of missions in the same time.

Utlimately it's an economic war having more to do with your cost-effect ratio for achieving your goals and your abiltity to spend as little as possible for the maximum gains. Those who, regardless of what game they play, cannot be efficient in their time will fall to the wayside as those can handle it eventually become Gods of EvE and women will throw their clothes off at the mere sight of them and lay at their feet. Beer will flow from the heavens into the cups, um.... eh... OK maybe not.
