Welcome to eve.

Don't anger the forum gods.

lol yea i know of him already. when i was researching getting into EvE i figured out that he lives in panama (only a few blocks from a specific mall here). i wanted to find someone to physically in RL show me how to play the game. he was a bit hesitant (understandable in a 3rd world country), plus as far as in game, he told me that he is a lone wolf..

but yea...

Right, Brujo's from Venezuela. And I believe he was living in Panama the last time he reported in.

Well aside from everybody's favorite Central American, I would say a good bet would be to go on Youtube and watch tutorials. What kind of career are you thinking of doing?

not sure yet...i have already broke it down to two options...

1) the slow way to play, which for me would be...mining, industrial stuff, etc...
2) the fast way to play...PVE, PVP, FW..pew pew, boom, etc...

although i kinda like mining (reminds me of my battlestar galactica days)...i think i would much prefer PVP or PVE. my problem with that is that i feel like i would not have the time and or skill become good at it, and usually when you suck at something you tend to not like it...so im afraid of that.

i just joined brave newbies and was about to intro my self to then now when i log on...let see...

Well the pve/pvp run on a similar concept but the builds are different. Essentially it's finding a specific faction ship style and weapon style that you like and focusing on those to start.

For example I'm Caldari so I started with Caldari ships. Caldari specialize in Hybrid weapons, missiles, shield, and EW so I focused on those. I learned quickly that missiles are awesome for PVE, not as awesome for pvp.

Along with those you want to throw in support skills like energy grid upgrades and some of the warp drive stuff. It's been a long time since I started from scratch so I know I'm missing a ton of info here. I suggest hitting up the skills sub forum and looking for some newbie skilling guides.

For the missions most people say they can get to running 4's in a battleship within a couple of months but I honestly suggest sticking it out in 3's until you are sure, because losing a 200+ million isk Battleship to a small mistake can really put you off playing for a week.

Once you get into a routine though and you remember each mission, they honestly can be as quick as 14 minutes on a single character. It's a matter of knowing what resist to fit (Honestly I just fit omni shields and didn't give a ****) and knowing what damage types to use (seriously, I used the same ammo for everything. I really really didn't give a ****). To me the 2 biggest rules in mission running is to remember the trigger ships and keep an eye on your HUD for warp jammers.

Also keep in mind that running faction missions in one area will gain you points there but reduce them elsewhere. I ran Caldari missions for years and led to me being shoot on sight for a while in Gallante space until I worked on my Diplomacy.

PVP is different. I haven't been in for a while but the last time I check it was more or less about fitting a buffer tank and hitting the other guy hard and fast. Much like sex. Prison sex. The first especially because it's over before you know it and you're left sitting there with adrenaline pumping and no idea what the hell just happened.

Always assume that your opponent is not alone. Never follow him to a planet for duel. When you enter a system warp around a bit and set book marks. And most importantly don't get too attached to your ships because you will die. A lot.

If you go the PVP route, you'll need some other activity as a source of income. You need some way to pay for new ships to blow up. A lot of PVPers do PVE on the side (agent missions, exploration, Faction Warfare missions, killing null sec belt rats). I do T2 invention and manufacturing to fund my PVP. That works out pretty well for somebody who doesn't have a lot of time for the game. Once you have everything set up, you just log in, set up your manufacturing jobs, and go PVP.
