Is it about names or about what you say?

So is the new ToS rule just about not naming yourself very similar to someone else or are you also not allowed to say you were a representative of corp xyz? Would i be allowed to say i'm from Alliance XYZ and will accept corp As money for renting space? Would the devs/gms at least check if one of my other accounts is in alliance xyz before punishing me?

when it comes to names where is the line? Is it important which character was created first? who is more "popular"?
obviously there are a lot of cases for either view where this rule would result in a bad decision... I.e. how do you decide what more "popular" is or why would it be fair for someone who created his char in 2005 but was inactive for 7 years afterwards to demand the namechange of someone that created his char in 2006 but was active ever since?

i know there are a lot of threads about this already but could we PLEASE get one thread here where these things are clarified? or at least a message that these things will be clarified in an upcoming dev blog?

Good question... According to the GM post in a locked thread you'll soon be linked to, it's names since nothing has changed. Except, you know... the parts that have changed.

Abuse cases are investigated on a case by case basis by the GM team. If you have a specific case or example you would like to bring up with them, or to have clarified, please file a support ticket. It's always better to ask first when serious EULA/ToS violations are on the line.

CCP are aware of the general response and confusion over the change, having seen it themselves and been briefed by ISD CCL. They have not made a response yet, but I'm sure they will when they are ready to.

Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve EVE Online provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EVE Online and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Users are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.

However, as posting on this topic currently only leads to non-constructive keyboard-mashing, this thread is locked.
