I may have made a lot of ISK in EVE by approaching an alliance on behalf of another alliance in order to settle a dispute and asked for a few million in "administrative fees" in order to do X, Y, or Z... It is then fun to sit back and watch the fireworks ensue when Allinace X tells Alliance Y, "Hey, I Have permission form Skippy to mine in this region because we payed you guys 100 Million ISK."

Now I have a fun way of making ISK removed from my arsenal. WHy?

to be honest, when some one changes the rules in the middle of a game, i'd be annoyed too.

You can still do that, you just can't say "I am the alt of..." or say that you are somebody else. I actually got busted for it once a while back... the policy has not changed.

Signatures should be used responsibly...

To my understanding, policy has always been to disallow impersonation and false representation. However, it was not stated in the rules as strongly as CCP wanted it to, so they changed it. It is now not only obliquely mentioned in the EULA, but also in clear language in the ToS.

I assure you, the silence is not to keep you in the dark. CCP are aware of the problem (having both seen the community response, and having been briefed by the CCL) and will respond when they are ready to.
