You know, there is something I do find rather ironic about these constant declarations stating that freedom is an affront to the Caldari way of life and therefore a reason why the Federation needs to be destroyed.

Diana, does the State mandate you the privilege to post to the IGS? Is it a mandatory requirement of being in the Militia that you must provide content to this place? No. You are given the freedom to post your own opinions on this forum by being a registered CONCORD pilot.

In fact, you have been given the freedom to express your opinions and ideals for a long time now and yet you haven't decried that fact. So before you make the blanket statement that the concept of freedom is solely a Federation ideal, you might want to think well on the fact that your ability to do as you will is a freedom granted to you by being a capsuleer.

I could go on how the Federation cannot lay sole claim to the ideal of freedom. The Amarr Empire's ultimate goal is to provide a certain spiritual freedom to all of New Eden through the spreading of the word of God; something that is happening within the State thanks to the missionaries who have been allowed entrance.

The Minmatar fight for freedom...freedom to self-govern themselves, freedom for their brothers and sisters still in captivity and the freedom to be their own people. This has been the case long before the Federation ever intervened to help the Minmatar escape from the Amarr.

The Caldari State, from what I have seen, also has ideals of freedom, so long as the end result is beneficial to the State. Fair pay, the right to vacation, and other amenities can all be argued as being State sanctioned freedoms to the individual citizens.

Now where's your sense of adventure? Maybe what you need is some rough sex to get this tension out. This Dr. Gallento feller seems like a nice chap, and surprisingly he seems interested in you.

-Eran

Let me tell you, Brother Eran, that sex in a pod is very much dependent on the participants. The neural networks transmit thoughts and emotions, so you can literally 'feel' what your partner is thinking.

I've always been pleased by the experience, but a good friend of mine made the mistake of doing it with a lady of the evening and was forced to perform even though he could feel her disappointment.

Not to derail the topic, but in case any of you kids are thinking of doing the jig Jovian-style, make sure you can accept a little uninhibited criticism.

In Diana's case, I would assume her theoretical Gallentean partner would feel all of her violent anger during the act.

I'm still undecided as to whether that is a thrilling or frightening experience.

I've... never actually considered that. I will have to try some time.

But more to the point, I believe Kim that the overwhelmingly conservative intent of your message is perhaps the reason it is not well received. We are effectively unafraid of consequence. It is a norm of the circumstances surrounding our unique situation as capsuleers. Why are you so concerned with loyalties and living what many of your colleagues would consider an unfulfilled life? Why reject freedom and hedonism and such and so on when the consequences are a moot point?

What are you afraid of?

Why there should be complaints? You don't have to be properly educated to do this, am I right?

It is unregulated, unfortunately.
Really, I would prefer to receive punishment for saying here something bad, instead of having so many trolls. Thorough physical punishments help peoples a lot to hold their tongues where they should stay. This freedom is disruptive.

You are incorrect. I have stated opinion that this forum allows too much degree of freedom of speech and that I would prefer it to be fixed much earlier. I think you still could find my topic about freedom of speech here somewhere.

The concept of freedom is quite interesting thing to discuss. This dangerous phenomenon must be fought, but, unfortunately, I started this discussion rather about hedonism. If you would like to discuss freedom, we could start another discussion.

They had that everything before they started this "fight". Freedom fighter is the most despised by me type of unprofessional armed force. As one of my mentors said, the real desire of a slave is not to get rid of masters, but rather to get their own slaves. Their "freedom" is destruction of Empire, that has much better organization than they. Freedom is a chaos and destruction, and they are bringing it.

They are not 'freedoms', Ms. Saissore. It is regulations, abilities and sanctions.
Vacation, for example, is essential for citizens to rest and work more efficiently.

That gallenteans have their heads so deep in gutter is another reason why the Federation must be destroyed.

Our last discussion resulted in my jaw being bruised and you unconscious in the infirmary, so I think we can skip starting an entire new thread on how evil and oppressive the concept of freedom is to you.

Hedonism, when taken to its excess, is destructive to both one's self and to those around the person indulging to excess. However, the same can be said of anything taken to excess: absolute devotion to a cause can be quite destructive as well as the complete denial of one's personal needs or desires. Extreme behavior or attitudes are never balanced and end up causing far more harm than any good, as far as I have been able to see. Moderation is the key as well as knowing one's limits and convictions.

Unfortunately, I am not quite sure why I am trying to reason with you in this regard as you have made it quite clear your own beliefs on the subject along with your own actions. Your inability to relax and simply enjoy good chamber music or an actual poem speaks volumes about you, Diana.

Perhaps, one day, you will manage to find the beauty that I think still exists in the core essence of your being...whether one could call it a soul (I personally believe we maintain our souls...but that is a very dangerous topic that I think we can all agree to avoid), or something else, but I do truly believe there is something that is Diana Kim and not the playback device of the Provist movement.

Whether it will ever be allowed to grow and flourish, well, that remains to be seen.
