Alternative way of patching

If you've attempted to run the ExeFile.exe in the bin folder, with no luck, then you're assertion that it would be better to return to "old faithful" is a little misplaced. Is your DirectX uptodate? There should be DirectXRedist.exe in the bin folder to install it. If you could run that and let me know if you have any more luck getting in.

Additionally, if you could copy and paste the errors, to here or pastebin.com for example, then we can look into what went wrong.

the 'old faithful' launcher, you know the one that patched the game and didn't break, did exactly what it was designed to do, patch and not disrupt logging in.

this new launcher has to be run to patch the game, as the bin exe method wont patch by it self.

so you saying the 'old faithful' way is actually a lie as you removed the working way(old faithful) and replaced it with a broken bit of software.

the bin exe is a work around for broken by design software.

I had an issue where I first started the Eve Online Launcher and it completely downloaded the patch file for Odyssey 1.1 (750 MB) and then did not run the patch file and just stopped at Step 3.

I then closed down the Eve Online Launcher and started the program again. It did re-download the patch file but after download was complete it applied the patch file in Step 3 this time and I haven't had any issues since.

I was able to log into the game and everything seems to be normal.

Just thought I'd post this to help others to try it this way as I did not download any patch file manually or have to do anything outside of running the Eve Online Launcher.

I can confirm that after 5 attempts to download which completes ok, the process just idles in the 3/4 and does nothign and it stays 0.0%.

i ve lost 2hr to patch this thing without results :(


when i put patch manualy into eve dir, after lauchning launcher sems launcher deleting patch

I have tried every method possible known to this forum but i am out of option and luck, i think that if someoen posted the link to the manual launcher download, that have seem to help in the past.

recently y deleted all the cache folders in the directory and restarted the pc, when i log again i launch the eve.exe from bn and it detected the 6mb download, i proceed and now it is stuck again in the 6/7 downloading patch initializing and it just do nothign more.

Launcher error info for a dev. ^ Patching stops at around 45% and says **** you go outside. But I was outside all day and kinda wanna sit on my couch and fly spaceships. Tried running repair tool, got this message as it failed around the end

those zip files for the alternate patching arent working for me. I'll be back in a few days ccp. Maybe you guys'll reply to this by then hmm?

I used the repair.exe, worked for me.

Next time please just tell people beforehand that the launcher 1) might not work with manual patching and 2) will delete downloaded patchfiles.

I feel bad for all the people who pay by gigabyte and got screwed over by the launcher deleting completely fine patch files.

I also keep getting errors when attempting to use the alternate download links. Have tried different browsers, but to no avail. I have come to rely on this method of patching, for various reasons.

I hope that CCP is aware of this problem and that the links are only down temporarily.

I hate to double post, but it's been a few days and the alternate links still do not work.

It would be nice to know whether or not this is an isolated incident or if many others are also experiencing this, and if so, whether or not this is an issue that CCP is aware of or if the manual downloads have intentionally been disabled. Thank you.

Today another patch, so its another full game download and installl since i am unable to patch since odessey and yet ccp has given me the answers that i need to fix this. I gues si am not buying enought plexs for real cash cause i guess my problems will be resolved. Please CCP Staff, HELP US.

I have tried also the import patch feature but that also creates an error. If anyone can link the download link for that latest patch you will rock my world. ( EVE WORLD )

Wow another minor patch today and now I have to uninstall on my desktop and laptop and do another full download and install just to get this minor update. Can we just get the patch file to import? Whats the reasoning behind not helping out your clients CCP? Is their a technical limitation to providing the individual patch files for download? You are going to lose many long term subscribers to this issue if you don't act fast. That is a fact not a threat.
