I feel every time the changes are really doesn't matter. Even 10 years. It seems the Star Citizen and X rebirth will have some neat features. EVE maybe already old, they are afraid make big changes but just around some small things. I am wondering how many real new players join to EVE. I see the monitor, and looks players are increasing, however maybe most of them is old core player, they may have more accounts, and those old players already rich, they can play by free. So it looks more players there but actually that is not fresh blood.

There are two responses to updates:

1. Oh Cool!!!Big smile

or

2. Oh Damn!!! Cry

If you respond more with #2 than #1 then something is wrong between the keepers of Eve and the player community.

I don't think they're afraid to make big changes, they have a hard-core player base who whines about VERY MINOR issues.

The problem with such small things is that you are just as likely to make two more issues or alienate other players as you are to fix one, .This is a total buzzkill for newer players excited about the future vision, who don't really care about jukeboxes or bump physics.

i.e.
We need to stop devs wasting time on projects like tessellation and walking in stations! No new ships and weapon systems until they fix the important issue- the diffuse on the spotlight of the federation navy comment . This is a game breaker guys!!ONE!!!

Tell me again about how every playstyle you dont engage in "doesn't require any effort" and everyone who does it needs to die in a fire. Be sure to mention about how you tried it once but it was too easy/boring/ethnic-homophobic slur.

Nah. CCP give away game time in the form of plex, right? They'd be just fine with everyone playing for free and giving them no money. They're nice like that.

I joined 16 months ago. Is that new enough for you?
And I know several players who started playing EvE much later. Actually I helped some of them to get into the game by giving them advice, ships (even up to battlecruiser hull size in one case), equipment (ok, most of that was from mission loot) and by taking the time to answer their questions (note: I don't do it every day of course and usually ignore people who beg, whine, nag or annoy me).

And in case you think giving a fitted Venture, Retriever, Combat Frigate or Cruiser don't mean much because these ships are cheap: I still remember my first days and how great it was when I met that player who answered some of my questions and who gave me an Osprey and some T2 mining lasers to get me started (I was trying out mining at that time and the Osprey was the best mining ship before mining barges). Sometimes the little things count.

Yeah, expansions and patches affect my game massively, and the stuff that's been fixed and updated in the past years has been awesome.

Sigh...
Where do you think plex comes from?
Even if you buy it on the market, A PLAYER has bought it for REAL MONEY.

As for the changes, small changes are good, and sure it takes a long time for the game to evolve, but that the way evolution works.
Sure, they could just change the entire game overnight, but since a large piece of EVE is it's economy, the chances of making a massive change and not crashing the economy is slim. History of other MMOs has shown "big change = bad". CCPs are doing the right thing. Change 1 major thing during an expansion, and make core balance changes step by step. EVE is a VERY different game to what it was when I joined, but it's transitioned slowly over time.

Nah, while I appreciate that some people are trolling, I tend to assume everyone responding to anything like an idiot is actually an idiot. That way, while a troll may "win", when an actual idiot reads the thread, they still get the right response.
