Alright, so I'm a returning player who previously had a indy character that I sold on the bazaar and ended up buying this pilot instead, being that I had lost my POS and my ability to really keep my industrial character going. *Last time I played was 2011*.

But with that said, I never really got involved in the combat side of Eve, and this character isn't very specialized, but had enough skills and that I pulled the trigger and went for it.

Like I said the skills are EVERYWHERE, but at least there is a strong focus in missles.

Any suggestions on my best path with this guy? Should I focus him for a tengu? If so, does anyone have the time to take a look and see what I should really focus on in order to make him the best tengu pilot I can?

At the moment, since he already has bombing and Torps at IV I figured I may as well get him into cov ops and in a manticore in the short term.

My interest is in sub caps, pve and eventually pvp. --- And I would like to move to Null. which is why I didn't shudder at having a bit of mining available.

I really appreciate any advice and time that people take to give me a hand.

Looks like his forte is missiles and EWAR so play to that strength. If you want to go covops go Manticore -> Falcon -> Widow. For non covops stick to the ECM ships Blackbird, Scorpion, Griffin.

Personally, I'd shoot for the Falcon as a primary ship and use the Griffin/Blackbird until you get there (no Caldari Cruiser 5 so it'll be at least a month before you can even sit one). Very few people wouldn't want a(nother) Falcon around.

You'd have to ask someone else about the Tengu, as I don't really use T3s all that much.

To dos if you wanted to take my plan above:
Caldari Cruiser V
Recons IV (preferrably V but IV is a fast train)
Cloaking V
Cyno V (for Covert Cyno)
Finish maxing out your ECM skills to V
Other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting/omitting.

Hmm, just looked up some falcons and it does seem they are quite the ship for what they are. Widows are def out of my budget range, and I'll probably set a skill path for the falcon then and use a manti in the mean time. Now just to find a good corp that actually wants to take the time with me being a complete combat newb!

I'd suggest going on a few roams with Bomber's Bar, they're great fun for people getting into Covops.

Vengeance Inc. and xxPizzaxx do a lot of Cov Ops work too.

not Sp realted but skill related:

you might want to learn pvp in cheap frigs and destroyers and later some t1 cruisers.

i suggest an internship with rvb, brave newbies, and stuff like this. i foresee tht you will die a lot, and it will cost you some isk doing it in a falcon.

Turbulent has it. Cheap stuff to start for sure. Come to lowsec faction warfare.

Zappity's Adventures for a taste of lowsec and nullsec.

I actually like the way he is trained. You have tons of options. Curious why you want to wait to go to null??

Best is to get him into a bomber, null these days is all about black ops hot drops. Train leadership to 5 also, some null anoms, well the 10/10 anyway, need it to get in. Handy for both making isk and dropping on the people running them.
He does have a lot of missile skills, so maybe go for T2 rockets and HAM's. Lots of good options with those, and 3 of the 4 races have missile based ships available at the moment.

Other than that it depends on what you like to fly.
If null is your goal, then find a corp and train for whats needed for them if you have no preferences. They will have doctrines you should aim for and if you end up in angel space and you have trained lasers, its not going to be easy going for making isk ratting.

I think the only thing holding me back from going (back to null), is that I need to find the right corp for me. Last time I was in null was in 2011, and the alliance I ended up with had a horrible logistics support line, of course unless you could run your own or were buddy buddy.

All in all though I've taken each bit of advice here, and I'm going to join into FW while still training some of the more core pvp skills that I feel I need, and finish things like cloaking V, and Cov Ops. All while looking for a null corp that is right for me.
