Black Ops Covert Reconfiguration Module Idea (Highslot passive At a cost and a serious choice)

Description of module below must fit to use covert cloak



Covert Reconfiguration Module I

Can only be fit to Black ops

Can not be fit with covert jump portal generator

4k M3 weight ( due to the fact that it completely changes systems of the Black ops (also makes it impossible to carry around in cargohold forcing pilot to make a strong decision before undocking if he wants to use it or not ) possible with alot of trit in construction proccess

Passive highslot module once fitted does its thing (reason for it being highslot and a passive module is to gimp the highslot that would be used for the Jump portal generator and to keep the ship from being made op) also it needs to be always active while on the ship or strange things will happen

Remove Jump Drive capability when fitted and ability to make jump portal

Reduce the fuel bay to 0

Allow Fitting of a covertops Cloaking device

uses same powergrid and cpu as Covert jump portal gen

speed bonus should be kept somehow while cloaked with the Covert ops cloaks 0% speed penalty I think there will have to be a penalty added to keep speed on par to standard cloak and keep the blacktops from doing 1k cloaked



what this does is puts out the idea of a module to remove the jump drive and portal and fuel bay and replace it with the necessary electronics needed for covertops cloak hence 4k m3 weight and it being a highslot module as it is the external of the ship that the cloaking happens on.
the weight also keeps people from carrying it in there cargohold and ninja swapping at a carrier or pos and makes them have to decide between warping cloaked or being the awesome support ship that it is before they take it on the days journey

also the module its self should completely ignore all heat calculations as if it wasn't there to prevent it from being used as a radiator
also should be limited to only 1 at a time to prevent using the highslots as a means to ninja haul them to sell

and if you want to return the black ops back to its original role just remove the module

I would love a devs input back on this idea and input of other players

Edit : added idea a external animation to make it visible that the module is fit to the ship sort of like when a active shield hardner is running so in a quick glimps a fc can make heads or tails as to what to expect if its covertops capable or jump drive capable
skills should be same requirement to just fly the blackops ship

Sounds like you may as well pump for a second class of black ops (covops, no bridging) entirely. Which has been mooted already, to split the class into a bridging type and a combat type. Making it a module seems cumbersome.

Not that I particularly think that the combat BLOPs will be a great idea as it is at the moment; just a bigger lossmail waiting to happen.

just release combat versions of the black ops and the bridging class, or simply add covert ops cloak to the current ones, and no it would not be OP, not even trolling, they have such a paper thin ******* tank they deserve a covert ops cloak. If someone says it would be OP, take a look at a panther for example, 60-70k ehp and 1100k, roughly same stats for the sin and the redeemer, dont even get me started on the widows pittiful tank, personally i want the ecm bonus gone on it and give it missile range bonus, and replace the current missile range bonus with missile damage, so it has damage and rate of fire bonus, actually allowing it to do damage, and with the ecm gone actually be able to have a tank equal to the others. i rest my case give the current black ops covert ops cloak.

This idea avoids the idea of introducing a whole new hull which is great in its own as allows for the black ops to change its role from support and haha jumped over camp fleet bridging cyno jammer busting beast, to a afk cloaky *** that has to pass through those gate camps lol and can warp cloaked without giving out its heading and so on .. They know its there but where?
