It's an interesting idea, but I think it would have some serious negative side effects. Segregation tends to not work to the benefit of either party. HiSec is already pretty safe, and oftentimes boring. The risk of having someone violence your ship helps keep things a little spicy. If your plan were implemented it could degenerate to the point where the only time I'd have to worry about a player shooting at me in HiSec would be if I named my ship Veldspar and went belt hopping. By having the risk of non-consensual pvp still be out there players are encouraged to remain wary and attentive... take that away and you'll only increase their shock and outrage when it finally does happen.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Why in the world SHOULD hisec be safer exactly? I know we have all heard this narrative but it rarely has anything as what safety means and if it is good for the game or the player.

lol now that is humor. I like it.

No in truth not sure what would happen, heck the way some of the gankers work no more then to collect tears. They may just gank people in high sec to get a free trip to WH space to shoot at other gankers.

Lets take Aaarrgg for example he is a POD only ganker.

Its funny what he does and yes he more in-likely help a few people stop playing completely. He is almost the prefect example of what is wrong with high sec. There is no true punishment for repeat infractions of the law.

I understand there are many others, but where I fly he is the main one. Now on good note he is a prefect example of how Eve lets you do what you want and you have the freedom to do it.

But is he not taking the freedom away from others while enjoying his? That is the basic essence of crime and punishment.

I would hate boring game more then anything we can all agree on that, so I see where the excitement comes into play. Would not a jail space be exciting for those causing the entertainment? That brings a warm fuzzy to me.

Just ideas and thanks for the input, need more cons and pros.

@OP - So you want to have highsec more realistic in comparisson to real life... this speaks volumes on your naivity on that matter. You think real life has perfect justice system?what the hell....if anything criminals are caught and get away with **** all day everyday in the courtrooms, and let's not forget about the ones that roam free and the police look the other way ( think of the very rich and powerful ) ...now if that's what you mean by realistic,i sure am on your side ...let's make exceptions and loopholes in the highsec "justice" system.
But if by realistic you mean your very own fantasy land where carebears hold hand and criminals are hauled away for ever so you can have rainbows growing out of every highsec corner i say to you : you are mad

Eve is not WoW,not here to hold your hand, whole point of it is to be a cold and ruthless world now stop it with the stupid posts =)) you dont have any supporters

In Eve we have clones which makes the body disposable. Concord will blow up the aggressors ships if able but that's it. there is no time out, jail time, or any other sort of punishment in the current system. You can waste your money and place a bounty that they themselves can collect on.

Sure other players can help, or hiring a merc professional helps too like Mermit Collective rip a new bum hole to Tribal Band. I was laughing about that one, O the irony.

The Question how do we make High Sec safer and implement a true crime and punishment system?

I am sure its only wishful thinking but who knows.

Actually you seem to be mistaken I as a suicide ganker do believe there is a 'timeout' and it is called the criminal timer it is 15 minutes where I have to stay docked! High security space is not meant to be safe, before ganking I used to treat high sec like a high security prison, I would not walk through a high security prison with my pants down and all of my worldly possessions, it is just asking for me to be raped and robbed!

Here is some advice;

Well I say people keep comparing what they do in high sec as they would in RL. So in RL if repeat offenders keep committing the same crime over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Well you get my point. I mean something should change right.

@OP - you seem to think that doing bad things in eve is actually a bad thing for the game or something, which is really not the case,i am 100% sure ccp likes and encourages conflict....now considering that fact it would be rather stupid for them to heavily punish those that do involve themselves in conflict. this is a pvp game basically ,that's the bottom line.everything revolves around pvp, even industry

yes they do , faction warzones, dust 514, Null Sec roams and warp bubbles. Hell maybe a alot more I don't even know about. Yes conflict is awesome and encouraged in all aspects of the game.
Why on earth would anyone want to change that.

In truth I see your perspective so that is why I want to have a discussion, or at least a paradigm shift. Think about repeat offenders, is it not lame what they do over and over again. Is it bad for the game depends rage quitting is for $$ stand point but honestly who can control that. What we can do is make high sec a bit leaner and more realistically high sec. Let the douchebags have a more interesting time getting their kicks in places like faction warzones, and low sec ect..ect..

RL keeps coming up here in regards to repeat offenders... Our prisons are overflowing with stupid criminals who didn't grasp the game mechanics of life. The ones who do grasp said mechanics don't get caught. I've known drug dealers who were in business for DECADES without once having to face justice from the law... because they knew how things worked and were smart. The Zodiac killer was never caught. People kill every day and get away with it. People steal every day and get away with it.

I don't think adding stricter automated law enforcement would be beneficial to the game, nor would it make it more realistic... If anything it would make it less realistic as it would remove the possibility for crafty criminals to get away with their deeds. Aside from that you also do need to keep in mind that CCP rather enjoys it when we blow each other up, it keeps the game lively and entertaining. Ultimately it's up to us to keep the bigbads at bay, not them.

Why do you keep bringing realism into a virtual world of a video game? Real life is boring and has nothing to do with eve.

This thread is clear evidence that we need the ability to wardec NPPC corps so we can dispose of carebear scum before they destroy EVE.

Well I do not want to destroy it or make it boring, I keep thinking of a way to make it interesting. Jail time for the worst cases would be interesting and the jail space would as well. But who knows solution is out there not even thought of like getting ride of local channel all together O wait that one has be beat to death already.

I personally think that more than half of the issues being raised in multiple threads about "criminal scum" would be resolved if CCP were to implement the concept of Vendetta. Allow a character to wardec another single character and then even if the whinging and drivel wont dry up, at least the leg they had to stand on would be knocked out from under them.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.
