The competitive scene there....

Though his presence on the forums has been muted as of late, back when CCP Soundwave was actively writing/responding here, I, like many of you, grew to appreciate his....shall we say, directness. htfu, stfu, htfu, eve IS pvp, on and on in variations. It was great stuff. Never afraid to jump into a ruckus or start one, many a noob received replies they weren't expecting from Kristoffer Toubourg. "Welcome to EVE." You got shot? HTFU!!" CCP's current forum apologists seem to be there mostly to justify their own positions. There's no debate. You're wrong. Here's why. Thank you for your improperly-formatted and thus-ignored feedback.

Everything is becoming too balanced and homogenized. It looks great on paper, but people are supposed to exploit niches and customization in this game. That's why players responded to Soundwave's htfu message. He was a rebel who reinforced a hardline message. We're now on a path to each race having the same abilities. Cookie-cutter playstyles. Custom formations. Whether that's good or bad is relative. The kids may love it, (so it may be beneficial) but imo, as a whole, there's just no swag in it.

Like him or dislike him: Soundwave had swag.

Do they serve hakarl in Dublin?

Sorry to see you go Toubourg, but of course, only best wishes toward your continued success.

Oh, and if you ever get in a jam, just remember: "Quidquid Latinae dictum sit, altum viditur."

I once asked him to make pods legal targets when they have GCC ...

... and he said ... DEATH TO ALL PODS >:D

And then, after a few months... criminal pods finally became legal targets.

For those of you not aware, Riot are THE company to work for at the moment, it's no shock that he's leaving and heading to greener grass, i know of a few other devs that want to but like working on EvE

But Fly safe Soundwave, i'm sure we'll see you in game.

I have no doubt Riot payed a handsome ammount of money to get him.

Also Soundwave has been in CCP for a long while and I guess he had enough of company and politics and everything - its normal.

But when will there be another dev that on first of fanfest, on stage says: We want to make EVE a bit easier for a new player, not just heres your Rubics cube, go f*ck yourself.

Now thats the kind of speach I want from my EVE Dev.

F*ck you Jack and the horse you rode on. If the game is too hard, your too weak. But we will show the ropes to newbies, so you can kill and molest them later on ...

o god he went to work on LoL one of the most garbage games in existence. Their "community" ban review is so genius, people get banned from the game for not saying GG at the end. They also get banned for refusing to pick the gay ass heroes their teammates tell them to use, etc. Their entire "market" is meant to make money off the credit cards of parents whose kids are too dumb to see what a massive scam it is. (Come buy this new overpowered hero! Next week they nerf that hero and guess HERES ANOTHER OVERPOWERED HERO, rinse and repeat).

seriously? Well I hope he's getting paid well at least because I can't imagine having fun working for that crap of a game.

Not to mention the player base is made up of degenerates who think that wishing cancer on people every other sentence is cool.

Best of luck to him, reckon he will need it lest he find out that going full-tilt Dev mode with the first brainfart of the day is not a desirable trait in development except when working for 'home boys' who due to previous failures are forced to do whatever to please whenever the chance arises.

Wonder if they will now roll back the disastrous infernal FW "expansion" that he presided over #hopespringseternal.

PS: Real world is harsh, hope he survives. Has the head, just needs to use it properly and more consistently.
PPS: Yes, I am still pissed off in the extreme over the horror Inferno brought to FW and will likely never forgive the people who didn't speak out against that atrocity before it was finalized.
PPPS: League of Legends? That a new MMO or a different genre?

Sad Meow :(

Wow, I don't know if I'll watch the next alliance tournament now....Soundwave, so long, and thanks for all the fish.

I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"
