I don't know if this has already been posted, cannot find it in the thread :

My "inventory" and "ship hangar" windows don't want to stay open, each time I dock or undock they close.

Have the red globes showing the approximate locations of sigs disappeared since the patch?

Is this a bug or planned (you can still figure out where they are from the overlay, but no handy globe on map view)?

Yup, I am getting this too.

No big deal, CCP. It's not like scanning is completely necessary for certain play styles or anything.

I can't see any of the red spheres or dots in the scanning window, I can still scan them but I don't see them.

Same here. I can highlight individual signatures to get one red dot, but only one at a time. Ship icons don't appear at all in the system map under probes.

This is on the Mac client, and occurred after my first session change jump to another system.

More information: the ships in the system went away, and all the red dots came back. Maybe there is some interference of the ship scan brackets with the red dots.

Reduce the ISK/hr? Using a cruise missile Golem with all damage missile skills at V (except Cruise Missile Specialization at IV), it is virtually always that rat battleships are left with about 3 tiny lines of structure on the damage counter. Thus virtually every rat battleship requires waiting for the launchers to cycle again (time) and one extra volley of cruise fury missiles (ISK) to finish them off.

Both time *and* cost went up by 25% to 33% per rat battleship.

I'm getting the same sort of thing in my maxed out CNR. As things stands atm things were a lot better before Odyssey was roled out (including before the missile buff). As things like Angel Commander, EOM Archons and loads of other weak BS used to only take two volleys to kill. Now its defiantly takes a minimum of 3 volleys and that's if you don't get the bug were npc take virtually no damage at all.

undocking sound is either low or missing.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

Drone issue;
*snip*

not a bug, it's actually a feature, on day 1(back in 2003) the tutorial tought you how to CAPTURE drones, by disabling them that way
i still have the "tutorial attack drone" that thing made me capture
it has 30EHP and does 0.5dps of undefined damage, yay!

they never removed the feature that when drones take heavy hull damage, they get disabled, and you lose control of the drone
they just stopped telling anyone that this mechanic was still in, and usually the HP band of "disabled" is so narrow, that it almost always gets killed in one shot, so you rarely ever see it happen

no clue if the patch made this happen more frequently though

Wow, I learned something new today. Well, I did this "tutorial" in 2003 (as player), but I could not remember this feature. Removing the destruction at 50% dealt damage in one hit increased the likelihood of drones getting disabled (which happens at 25% structure).

it was easy to miss, the text told you to capture the drone, but you did not actually need to, the tutorial continued if you just killed it
trying to remember over 10 years ago, i think the beta version of that tutorial looped over and over untill you captured that thing, which is why i did even after they removed the requirement
it was one of those annoying AND pointless things..
after playing for over 10 years now, i cant say i ever actually tried to capture a drone outside the tutorial,
well, aside from trying to capture the rouge drones, but sadly that did not work :P

Well, I have just installed Odyssey 1.1 almost without a hitch - but I will admit that had I not read through this whole thread, it might have been a very different experience.

There was one very weird thing going on throughout the patching process - and I strongly suggest everybody trying to install the patch checks whether it's happening on their machine too before he/she starts killing the launcher, running exefile.exe, deleting or repairing files, and whatnot (as I suspect THAT is when the REAL mess commences).

Simply put, rather randomly, the progress bar stops updating - however, the patching process is actually proceeding just fine. It's been mentioned several times in this thread, but I believe it's worth pointing out again. I have encountered several moments when the patching process seemed to hit a wall (first right when the update started, then several times later on) - seemingly no progress for many many seconds.

However, every single time, I have eventually managed to get the progress bar to start displaying the progress again (and found out the download/patching/whatever was proceeding just fine). IIRC, hovering the cursor over the launcher window always did the trick, but it was not the only way. Clicking around, minimizing the launcher window and bringing it back to desktop, launching some other piece of software like Calculator or Notepad and closing it... there seemed to be multiple ways to "return the focus" to the updater bar (specifically: I was able to get the updater bar to work even with the cursor outside the launcher window).

So, if you're patching and things seem to be stuck, first check they really are - the computer savvy capsuleers may check the list of running processes to see if there is any CPU activity from a familiar process or check network connections to see if there are actually packets coming in.

Though the simple fix for me has always been just wiggling the cursor around a bit and parking it inside the launcher window.

WHY this happens, I don't know... perhaps some invisible interaction with background processes (like an antivirus), perhaps the launcher launches a subprocess and doesn't claim the focus back.

Just my two cents.

In some cases, NPC battleships are not dying from my volley on extremely low structure when they are supposed to so I need to fire an extra volley to finish them
Also I believe that "failed" volley is not displayed at all in combat logs
This happens not all the time, but only the time when NPC BS is repairing some armor on the same server tick that my volley is supposed to hit
I have enough dps to take out half of their armor each volley, so it's definitely not a "u can't overcome their self-repair"

Scanning is completely broke. I never see the red spheres and only see the red dots occasionally. Also when scanning the sigs, more will randomly appear/

I'm having an issue when scanning down player ships, I get a %found on my probe scanner page, but I don't get any red dots in space (if I use the spread formation I get the red circle for 2 probes getting a signature) so it's just a guess to where they are located in my probe's range.

If you are dragging your scan results column widths while your probes finish an already-in-progress scan, the column move will be "stuck" to your mouse, with no way to stop changing the column widths. Has happened to me twice now.

That's by design, as mentioned in the patch notes.

Still getting this: '(notify) You have lost your target lock on [insert NCP here]. All modules being used on their vessel will be deactivated.' when destroying ships.

Also the tracking camera is resetting on session change.

This change uncovered indeed the (very old) issue of sometimes dealing a very low amount of damage to NPCs with very low structure. A question for clarification: The rats die after several shots in all cases and are not really invincible, correct?

SO CCP, Will you FIX IT or NOT?
This game could lost players after that bug and is not really invincible, correct?

We have an internal defect on this, but it is still unclear on how it will be fixed. But I am very certain that we will do something about it (as yes, this can be annoying).

Quote:
Does that mean the (nearly) invincable structure should only be happening to drones? Just ran "silence the informant" and the mercenary commander cruisers were taking 4-5 volleys once at 3% structure (from initial volley)

No, as far as I can tell this can happen to most objects, probably even for player ships (which will probably see module damage, when this happens).

In my opinion, it is closely related to the bleeding damage mechanism.
As you know, if shield or armor is substantially low then damage often penetrates and attacks the below structure.
And it also does penetrate hull, and attacks something unknown under the hull which might cause this glitching.
In case of PvP then we can understand the damage is taken to modules or etc.. but in case of PvE then..?

I hoped the patch on the last DT could fix it but it couldn't.

  • Cosmic Signature info (group/type) have no persistence. I scanned a WH, jump out a gate, come back, the Sig is at 0% with no info.

  • Ship Signatures' brackets/spheres are not displaying.

Edit: I'm on a PC.

3.8 Haswell CPU, GTX 760, 16 gb 1866 ram:

Anyone else getting serious stutter, pause and FPS drops when interacted with UI, changing session, or pretty much doing anything? Seems really bad right after last patch, I hope it's not just me.
