I've train for missiles only so turrets are out of the question.

Cross training =P

doesn't take long

if you don't enjoy missiles you should probably start training guns now =D

missiles are great for pve, great range so low damage to you which means you have get low repair costs.

Yet I'm having no fun at all in pvp because everyone just cheats and uses tech 2 weapons and ammo on what ever ship they are flying and kills you in 5 seconds because they *******s and don't want a fair fight and then pod you.

How can anyone enjoy this kind of pvp? you can't

the only way to have any fun in pvp is to be in the bigger better ship or have someone in a bigger better ship. and anyone who says they started killing battleships on day 1 you are a liar or an alt of a 100m sp player. Either way your being untrue.

oh please, only one thing to say http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vjiwyaod_rs

why is that what everyone says

"Get better noob" or "go join EVEuni"

nobody says anything else, they just say your an idiot and should go away. in someways this community is the worse I've been in.

I would try to get better but it takes me half and hour to find 1v1 frigate combat in FW space I die in 5 seconds and then have to spend another half and hour going back to a trade hub, fitting another ship, going out to another system, finding another fight, die in 5 seconds, do it again. The preperation takes up so much of my time that I never get a chance to do learn anything because I die in 10 seconds.

TEST server does wonders.

I did actually try the test server one problem on the server my character is pratically new (there I haven't even finished the career missions) so I can't actually do much.

Hold on, don't a few good assault frigs (hawk, vengeance) use rockets?
Btw you have to train skills separately on the Test server. Join channel moveme to be moved to the testing system.

I want to be economical with my skills points, but given how crap frigates seem to be a pvp I might give up on them and go to crusiers. As I've always suspected they are the only ships worth a damn in pvp.

You must not pvp much.

does this count as a lot? look at the losses and say if I'm good or not.

You sir are probably a troll, but o well I shall feed.

You have ignored and dismissed every piece of advice you have been given and you wonder why people beat you down?? Actually start listening to advice and maybe you will improve.

Here is my advice, you can kill a ship that has T2 weapons and mods with T1 weapons and mods if you play what cards you do have have lets take rockets for example, short range dps weapons that can dish a world of hurt but they also have support skills to go with it, skills that increase the amount of damage the refire rate and the range thus increasing your dps and damage projection, PVP should almost always be done with faction ammo when using T1 weapons refusing to do so is silly and you are denying yourself extra damage to help kill the guys you are having problems with.

Use ewar when ever you can a simple tracking disrupter with optimal range scrips go a long way against the ever so short range of blasters, lets use WOW as an analogy here as you may understand it better, you join a PVP server you walk out and get killed by a max level guy with top tier PVP gear and then moan on the forums that they should nerf top tier PVP gear or remove it all together and wonder why you get laughed at.

You sir have a cookie, try not to lose it while trying to find the door though

I'll admit none of these are great fittings but it proves I can do it.

Now lets let this thread die.

its never a good idea to judge a weapon purely by the weapon itself.
you have to see the weapon AND the hull that uses them.

for rockets, there are some realy good hulls. like the hookbill, the hawk or the venegance.

I saw your fit here: http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=19351208

I've used an almost identical fit, but with a MAPC instead of a PDS. If you do that, you can fit light missile launchers instead of rocket launchers. For example: http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=19436622

I don't have max fitting skills yet, but I'm sure that with max fitting, you could get some LML II's in there. The LML can catch people of guard. :)

It's just a suggestion, rockets have their place, and definitely are a good weapon system, in the right hands.

EDIT: Sorry I see Anja Suorsa already posted a similar fit.

With better fitting skills LML IIs do indeed seem to fit just fine. :)

This thread, boys and girls, is why you listen when people try to help you.

"Rockets are the most useless weapon system"

2 months later...

"well, I guess rockets are ok, turned out I just didn't know what I was doing"

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

Rockets are pretty good, even with less than a week of training. They do great dps and allow you to stay out of blaster range, which btw, really pisses off blaster pilots like myself.

This thread brings a smile to my face Big smile glad to see someone improve his game after so much... hardship. Good luck Paul, may many experienced pilots lose their shinies to your cheap T1 rockets! Big smile no sarcasm, I actually wish you more good fights.
