So I hear you can not pull wrecks and cans that do not belong to you. (Though I here wrecks belong to no one) Is that you CANT or if you do you will give them kill rights?

Don't let my frosty appearance and cold attitude fool you. Once you get to know me you'll find I'm a complete and total *

You just can't.

You get a lil' error message saying that they don;t belong to you and that tractor beam was unable to be activated or something like that.

Guess i won't be dragging miners cans into deep space on them with a Noc fit for speed Sad

EDIT: Guess shooting cans would be annoying as well, but not as fun as them seeing cans drifting off at a parid pace into space and having to retrieve then. NOOOOOoooooooo My cans! Twisted

DO NOT shoot cans in a starter system. That's called 'can-flipping' or 'can-baiting' and it's one of the few things in EVE that can earn you an account ban.

Anywhere else is fine, but never ever in a starter system.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

Yes I know, I believe their are 24 systems on that list I need to get a hold of it just in case. Thank you for the information just the same, had I not have known such info would be very useful and who knows, maybe someone else will read this and learn something new.

Shooting other players cans in high sec will get you concorded. In low sec it will get you a GCC.

Flip the can first - steal the goods and transfer them to your own can (assuming you can't get all the goods in your cargohold), then shoot it. Then you only grant the other player the right to shoot you for 15 minutes.

For your convenience.

TL;DR version of the reasons for this: Let people figure out which end of their ship points forward before teaching them the intricacies of the insurance and cloning systems. Thank you. Smile

Just to be clear about one thing ...

Wrecks of NPC's belong to the person who created them. That character owns the wreck and they have rights to it which other people do not - such as tractoring it. Others may also have rights to the wreck through a connection to the owner - but it is their connection to the owner which gives them those rights.

One of the rights which the owner of the wreck does not have - is exclusive salvage rights. It's still their wreck - but anyone can salvage it.

Better still, just steal the ore Smile
It's pretty annoying to lose a full can, and know someone else is selling it for profit.
