Drone UI

Give us the ability to switch mods from red to green after a missclick.

Allow ammo switching mid cycle (Make it start after the cycle) The current system of turning your gun off, waiting for server lag, switching ammo, waiting for server lag, turning gun on again. is pretty painful.

+1 for complete Drone UI Overhaul (not just band-aid changes to current system).

Look at how "pet management" works in other MMO's for possible inspiration where it's not such a chore, and the default behaviors are easier to implement. We definitely need the ability to drag drones/groups of drones into the modules section to quickly undock and attack/mine/salvage/rep a target or recall them. Of particular interest is trying to keep drones alive because they're such a chore to rep/manage and they're not cheap to replace. Possibly consider the ability to set a "return to bay threshold" for drones that will automatically dock up when they loose all shields or 50% armor, or whatever we want. Ever since the rat AI changes, using drones in PvE is more effort than it's worth. Perhaps there could even be a PvE module (high slot?) that would allow drones to "feign death" and drop NPC aggro upon activation for x seconds, to buy time to return to ship/get repaired. Perhaps there could be a module that passively reps shields/armor/hull damage of all drones in the bay slowly. Other suggestions I've read include instalocking your own drones (which makes sense since you've got a direct bandwith link to them). Again, I would look to how other MMO's have handled "pet classes" and managing multiple pets for inspiration. None are anywhere near as cumbersome as EVE for healing/spawning/recalling/managing aggro of your pets.

These changes should be balanced so they don't become OP in PvP situations (which is why new modules might be one solution which would be an acceptable trade-off for PvE but not PvP).

Change the scanning interface so that moving probes in the Z-direction is not possible. Moving probes in a direction you cannot see is a bad UI design. (Indeed, having any UI element which makes significant changes to program state without providing feedback to the user is a bad design.) And it is very annoying the vast majority of the time it happens. It might have some slight utility for a few oddball probers (looking at you here Ali, crazy woman), but I'm willing to wager that nobody who probes for a living does it. Meanwhile, for us normal probers, it is a huge pain in the ass. I'd also wager it confuses newbies. At least, when I was a newb it confused me.

We all know the UI needs lots of love.

+1 d-scan slider and AU conversion. Add an on screen marker for degree of scan, field of view (toggleable).

Save whatever you can server-side whenever possible: overview settings, NEOCOM organization, browser bookmarks. Window size and position probably wouldn't work owing to different screen resolutions (surprise me CCP!)

Saveable switchable window configurations. We organize things differently from PI, to mining, to PvP, to scouting, to Wormholes, to station trading and the overview isn't the only thing we change up.

More hotkeys.

Rotate that little probe adjuster arrow with the perspective

What are you even talking about? You can rotate the map to see directional movement in all three axis.

As for it not being useful I personally know someone with a bookmark 40AU above the sun, good luck probing him down without moving probes in the Z axis...

Drone UI sucks, fix it

Make it so the "pin window" button actually locks the window in place, like it used to, instead of just changing the transparency.

Global:

- currently Pin windows has a global switch to lock them, it would be preferable to be able to set lock per window.
- the Radial is menu is awesome, I find myself trying to it everywhere- please keep on adding it to all places Cool
- Small font in Overview works great, maybe add the option to chats, D-scan, everywhere?

Scanner:

- would it be possible to separate Probe and Directional scanner windows? They require very different amount of space, forcing us to resize the window constantly, and using dscan when scanning is tedious.
- it seems to be impossible to unignore individual scan results, it's either all or nothing?

People & Places:

- column reordering and customizing like inventory windows?
