With all the changes that they have made I have become tired of the changes, nerf, nerf, nerf and am hoping to leave eve behind, I am thinking of ultima but what game would be eve like without all the nerfing.

They got me to rage earlier but I just simply cannot get mad about it, I just feel it's time to move on to a fresh MMO without goon influence in CCP ranks.

Out of nostalgia, I had just installed Master of Orion 2 again, and it's still running at least on Windows XP.
Love that game :)
Since this Game is over 15 years old and the developer Microprose no longer exists, I can guarantee you that there will be no nerfs coming up anymore.
In single player mode, the only way to have Goons in this game would be if you happen to be one yourself, otherwise you should be perfectly safe.

Now the mandatory question about your stuff and if I can haz....please?

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I will remember your contribution and will keep you in mind when I go I don't mind giving sht away when I depart, for what I'm hoping never to need it and know if I want to I can get it all back with the SP's I have.

Oh and goons don't scare me they just bug me in the fact that they are too entrenched in this game through and through all the way into DEV ranks, that to me is a conflict of interest in this game.

I can understand that.
On the other hand, we all want the devs to play the game themselves, so that they don't only theorize about what the game needs and the players want, but experience it first hand.
If they play the game, they' ll simply have to be somewhere. I'd rather have a moderate number of them in the CFC than not in the game at all.

Just this everything I've read about goons have always made me think "goons it's not a game it's a way of life" for them.

It bothers me that goons have been crying out for killing the PVE aspects of the game, and to be honest it seems to be going that way, things have seemingly accelerated since the introduction of some former goons to the CCP ranks, but I digress, I'm not here to debate or fight, it's over I come to the conclusion that it's time to move on so I'm just here to get space sim info.

Star citizen sounds promising and the details are amazing.

MMOs probably Perpetuum and Darkfall are the nearest although neither are space sims.

Space Sims: Vendetta Online maybe? There are a couple that are in development though, Star Citizen that you know about, Elite Dangerous (dn't know what the status is on that).

Apart from that, dig back a few pages here there are semi-frequent threads here about "what else is like eve that I can play?"

Well you have Endless Space and Sword Of The Stars, Gratuitous Space Battles, Star Conflict

I would love to Recommend Homeworld, but i guess you have to tinker abit with the PC for to be able to play that. And i don't think you can get hold of it anymore..

Let's see how that pans out.

* Killing insurance to Suicide Gankers to coincide with Tier 3's.
* Buffing Mining Barges so two fit an incredible tank + Ore Bays that have removed Can Tipping.
* Incursions Tier PvE added to High Sec.
* Buffing Tech 1 Industrials to be much more defensible, Tech 2 to follow.
* Buffing every T1 and some T2 Mission ship in the game including Battleships so far and come winter Marauders.
* Exchanging Drone Drops for bounties and removing meta zero loot to increase miners profits.
* Revamping the Exploration system entirely.
* Crime Watch is certainly a buff to the prey not the predators.
* Making Rats attack players who attack PvE'ers.
* Adding the Noctis a dedicated salvage ship.

These new Goon Devs sure have it out for the PvE'ers of the game. The "Killing of PvE aspects" as you call it has been increased content, ship improvements and extra safety being added with each expansion. The game mechanics CCP are changing either keep the status quo or buff it in favor of PvE players.

I don't get where these myths come from. The only place CCP and the "Evil Goons who control them" are killing PvE'ers is in your head.

Edit: Don't try Battlestar Galactica Online it is a P2W Nightmare. STO might be a good bet, from what I hear it has a bad case of cashshopitis but they seam dedicated to adding content.

Trade Wars!

Star Citizen and X-Rebirth look like nice distractions.. but I have to give props to Masters of Orion. Good classic stuff. I've also had a nostalgic itch to fire up Hegimonia :Legions of Iron again. Also good stuff.

Yeah, I know, but hey it's sometimes the perception of these things that drive mistrust, sure devs have done a great job with some indy ships but, as I said it's perception.

EVE's a great game but I am tired of what I've seen happening with hi sec.

Again I digress I'm not here to argue a point it's time for me to go and I love EVE just what I perceive happening to it.

I've decided to go with Star Citizen and see how it goes, need some fresh air so that why I am asking for ideals...nothing wrong with that.

SoaSE is good, nice fast-ish paced 4X game.
SotS is pwnage tho, extreme depth, jumping from turn-based strategic micro-management empire to highly tactical real-time space battles with newtonian physics.

Sorry to see you go. I know I'll be setting my capital ship V skills training for when X-rebirth hits, I imagine I won't be playing eve for a few solid months when that comes out. (2 months from now I believe.) If they deliver on even half of what they promise.

While your choice of star citizen is a solid one, be aware that won't be playable for a year or two at least. (Though they did mention a dogfighting simulation either at the end of the year or early next year.)

Sadly there just isn't a good "Eve clone" out there. I played perpetuum for a solid 2 years and it was as close as anything has ever gotten, except it's not in space. (Also we completely wiped out the Goons in it, they all ragequit. XD )

PS: I forgot to mention, may want to check out "Starmade" it's got a hell of a lot of promise as the ultimate true space sandbox. (Since you make your own ships and stations etc.) It's even playable atm as a free beta. Sadly it's got a long ways to go before it's balanced and finished.

STO is a fun game with a surprising amount of depth to it. Also the space combat was more fun than I anticipated. Regular content updates are a thing now.

However the other poster is correct, the cash shop is predatory and just basically horrid.

I played all of the Microprose games on a daily basis throughout the 90s. Firaxis took over for Civ, and recently did an amazing job with X-Com, so I am hoping Syd Meyer and friends will revive Masters of Orion. Other companies have tried to take over the old Microprose series like X-Com and MOO, but only Firaxis seems to be able to get it right.
