I think it's not possible. The "Receive notifications for this topic" gives you useless notifications within EveGate/Forum.

Just wondering I use an alt to buy stuff ship it to a region then sell it there on another toon, Is there a way to have the price of items set to the cost from my alt instead of having to set it manually

On your alt, go to transactions. Select "buy orders". Press CTRL-A to select everything, right click and select "set multiple cost".

You can form the thread into an RSS feed with the RSS button at the top of the thread. It's not email, but it's push (like email) vrs pull (like these forums).

I have an unrelated question also. There are certain orders that Mentat sees as being (in-range) competitors to my buy orders, but as far as I can tell they are not (example: Region Khanid, Neyi 10 Jumps vrs. Palas 5 Jumps) I've looked at some 2D maps to try and see where they overlap and they don't seem to. This leads me to my main question; is there a way to disregard a competitors order ID relative to one of my buy orders for the purposes of Mentat deciding if the order is "overridden"? (hope that makes sense)

I'd like to give this program a try but every time I go to add a character I get:

Error 203: Authentication Error

All the API information is correct. I've checked the website for any possible solutions, besides make a new one. I've done that one already.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hey guys, quick question:

assuming i have a corp key, but not the character key associated with this corpkeys owner.

can I use the tool properly, since I get some importing errors all the time.

one more question:

can i check for beein outbid purely on a regionwide order? (say i have a order that is region wide, and i only want to compare it with other regional orders and see if i am outbid)

1) Is there a way to force EVE Mentat to update its entire market journal/transaction history, as far back as (multiple calls, using multiple fromID values, to) EVE's WalletJournal/WalletTransactions APIs go?

2) If not, I'd like to update Mentat's local database manually. What format is EVE Mentat's dynamic database .database file in, and is there a way to interconvert between that and MySQL?

I can see that Mentat makes multiple API queries when requesting journal/transaction data, I assume because there's more new data than a single call can return. However, in my case it seems to miss big swathes of history. There's a two-day period where I don't have any journal/transaction data, for example. I know that any particular API call has a maximum number of entries (1000 by default, 2560 if you send it a rowCount parameter), but that doesn't seem to explain the problem; if I move the local database and make Mentat start a new one, it only queries back about a week before giving up, and I know there's more data available farther back in time from the API by looking at manual calls.

Thanks. EVE Mentat seems like it'll be very useful, but at the moment this partial data coverage problem is driving me nuts, and I may be forced to write a manual solution anyway.

Okay. So.

TL:DR I have my wallet transaction data but I cannot update Eve Mentat's database file, how do I do so manually.

After many, many ImportXML calls in Google Docs and a lot of reading, I now have my entire month's wallet transaction history sitting safe and sound in an Excel spreadsheet. There are, indeed, plenty of transactions that EVE Mentat misses, even when I delete its old database file and make it construct a new one.

I can't figure out how to update the database file though. I figured out it was SQLite, downloaded the SQLite Browser, and attempted to update manually, but the application won't let me mass-INSERT into an existing database from a CSV file, and if I drop the existing mentatTransactions table and import a new one from a CSV file, EVE Mentat fails to recognize it (I assume from some kind of index-breaking problem from the new table? I'm no SQL expert) and downloads a new transaction history (placing it into MY new mentatTransactions table, interestingly).

I would be very, very appreciative for any help on how to get the transaction data - that I have! It's sitting right there on my screen! - into Eve Mentat. I love the app but hate spending nine hours data wrangling.

Edit: you KNOW I'm exhausted when I start making typos.

Edit edit: I really think the simplest solution would be a "Force Eve Mentat to download your entire wallet transaction/journal history, not just until it starts finding duplicate entries" toggle.

To anyone FROM THE FUTURE that had the same problem and is reading this, I seem to have made progress deleting all records from the mentatTransactions table from a clean (i.e. Eve Mentat-generated) database, but not the table itself, i.e.

*save CSV file with your transaction history, collated elsewhere and sitting in e.g. an excel file*

*use SQLite Browser to import that CSV as a new table with a placeholder name, e.g. bob*

DELETE FROM mentatTransactions
INSERT INTO mentatTransactions SELECT * FROM bob

I'll post again if I get everything working.

Yup, got it working. I can now reliably recover an entire month's worth of transaction and journal history (as much as CCP makes available through the API) into my Eve Mentat local database, which is comforting.

Potential pitfalls:

1) Eve Mentat's picky about the date/time formatting. It's YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS (note the hyphens and the leading zeros), even though it isn't displayed as such within Eve Mentat.

2) Another formatting thing: Eve Mentat doesn't store "price" (in transactions) or "amount" or "balance" (in journal) as decimals; it stores them as ints, equal to price * 100, so the 1s place equals the hundreths place in the actual price. You'll need to convert.

3) SQLite Browser takes FOREVER to import CSV tables because it creates and closes a connection to the SQL database for EACH RECORD. This StackOverflow discussion was very helpful in providing a script + command line instruction to use to import directly using SQLite3, which is far, far faster (I'm talking 1-2 seconds versus 1-2 hours; wish I'd learned that earlier).

Good luck to anyone that ends up having to do this.

And, again, I humbly suggest that adding a way to force Eve Mentat to download an entire month's journal + transaction history, so it can do all this heavy lifting instead of a user, would be a nice feature.

@Fuzzysteve Very possibly, we made a number of low-level changes in this release. Do you have a forum thread?

Yes. Everyone.

The cache has changed format, and until there's an updated release, you won't get updated data.
