Please leave politics out of it.

especially if you try to link to things that are obviously uncorrelated as the completely ignorant will hardly be able to apply for welfare.

So, hang on...

- Someone willingly handed over his all assets to a stranger of shady reputation in Jita
- He proceeded to yoink corporate assets to fuel his "big chance of winning"

And lost all the money. By being greedy and going for a "get rich quick" scheme instead of honest work.

And some people still sympathize with this sort?

I mean, okay, I'm a horrible person but back when I shot someone and took his stuff at least I was honest about it.

Yea, I'll remember that the very next time I get a call to a housing project. Seeing what you believe in game, your IRL beliefs don't surprise me a bit.

I don't think many people pity him for falling for a scam. The problem here lies in the ts recordings or in short letting someone make a fool of himself , record it and then throw it out to the public.

This boils down to personal viewpoints and can be discussed till the end of time without an outcome.

So my personal opinion : if you feel the need to let someone make an ass out of himself in such a manner then your not worth jack **** to me.One person is behaving like an ignorant fool admittedly but the others are behaving like lill brats in highschool.

I'd rather be the first one and clueless then as the second one have a clue and behave like a total ****.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

flakeys, please stay on topic. I don't want to see this thread get locked as well. As for donating I honestly dont see the value in giving a corp thief any extra money for his loss. He obviously doesn't respect others money so why should we give him ours. Straight

This is probably the greatest idea for a scam I've ever seen.

I don't see why people sympathize with him.

- He willingly gave away everything to try and get rich quick rather than work like the rest of us

- He willingly made himself look stupid in front of his family

- He suspected he was getting scammed several times and didn't back out because he wanted the money.

By this threads logic, we should be handing out money to idiots who gamble away their savings. The person who was scammed was never at any point coerced or forced to do what he did.

He's probably going to make the same mistake again considering how easily he fell for it the first time, or he will at least squander all of the money he gets.

Seems to be the most logical thing to do, no?

Probably because he'd rather not have his name splashed around any more that it already is. Hell, OP didn't even link back to the original thread to try to keep it from spreading around.

Why? Because I think not all EvE players are like that, or even most EvE players are like that and even though I personally will lock down a newb, blow his ship up and pod him if I have the opportunity, its more just an impersonal thing and part of the game.

If you want to donate some isk to the guy do so and post what you donated here. Hopefully we can get up to 7 billion like he was promised.

Thank you.

So you are going to reinforce ignorance in the same way real life Welfare Checks do?

Brilliant. You'd do much better teaching new people the ropes o fEVE online and encouraging the guy who got scammed to either smarten up or get singing lessons.

Well the thing about welfare is that it prevents crime or disuades people from resorting to crime. It also increases consumer spending which in turn keeps businesses in business so they can keep more people from going unemployed. It also frees up jobs for people who actually want to work and those are in short supply even at the minimum wage.

I'm not sure how that applies to this guy though.

Maybe if we donate money to him it will prevent him from becoming an online douche canoe. I know that occupation has too many people in it.

Then put your money where your mouth is. How much have YOU donated?

Jenn, you and I have actually been agreeing on a fair bit lately, but as a welfare recipient myself due to disability, gonna have to tell you to pull your head in on this one. All you're doing is generalising and putting all welfare recipients into the same basket of "people that make me mad". But IRL, you wouldn't know the first thing about enough of these people to make such a broad generalisation.

As for that moron that keeps putting words in my mouth in this thread, you'll find a lot of ignorance there if you're out hunting for such today. Go get him, tiger. He bores me.

Can you move? Can you sit at a desk? Can you move your arms? Can you move your feet? If you can do any of these then you are not disabled.. Sick to death of people saying they are "disabled" but they are ******* lazy pieces of **** that think oh my back hurts but I sit in a chair all day and I should get disability!

I won't get into a real life discussion here more than it already is, but my job takes me daily to projects and trailer parks. I'm not talking about the welfare recipients who deserve help because of circumstances they can't control, I'm talking about the ones who make bad choices and then get rewarded for making bad choices. The problem with being a man is that I can't just -pregnancy- my way to ever bigger paychecks like so many of my daily "clients" do...... lol.

Which is what i'm saying here. The guy made some bad choices that any adult should have been able to avoid with 2 seconds of thinking, and Infinity Ziona wants to reward him for it. I think that's a bad idea, they think they're helping someone when in fact they are allowing those same people to stay stupid.

Doing dumb things is supposed to hurt so that people don't want to do dumb things again.
