EVE Online: Odyssey 1.1 Deployment Downtime Extended

Mac update downloaded, then it throw an exception half way through "applying", after restarting launcher, it re-downloads whole patch again (here goes my 3G data limit...) :/

Same problem... Stuck on 3/4 Applying.

Repair Tool used. Works wonders, that thing does.

I'm going to suggest they do away with patches, and just make people use the repair tool. It seems to be the job better then what ever system they use to install patches via the client.

Why to use the Launcher anyways? o_O Patchday? Wait a few and then use Eve Repair Tool, don't even bother using the launcher.

Patch is delayed or downtime is extended?

Mine stuck on 3/4 as well. Now using the repair tool instead.

I suspect it's because the repair tool asks to run as Administrator, and can thus make changes to your Program Files, whereas the launcher doesn't. I can't be arsed to run the launcher in Admin mode to find out though.

(I'm guessing the launcher uses the repair tool anyway behind the scenes).

Just done patching with ERT - 0 problems, 0 delays; game launched with no problems.

Stuck on 3/4 applying. Killed it and now it's downloading all over again.

The only reason I use the Launcher is for patches. Otherwise, the link on my desktop and Steam Other Games leads to EXEfile. This is the first time I've had a problem with downloading a patch.

Launcher is JUNK!.

Not a single problem here, using a fresh (old computer died last week) Windows 8 install ... have you checked your Operating Systems ? Antiviruses ?

I had problems after event in 02.09.2013. When CCP servers was under attack and have got unexpected offline. After that I can not launch the client. Then I use repair tool. Nothing. Then I reinstall the client. Launcher can not get patch. Then I have loaded 2 last pay loads for oflline installing. Now try to install again client. Think the answer may be we can see in that CCP have got attack on the servers and CCP have released new patch on the next day. 2 events may be maked the problems for normal working of servers of CCP.

How do you manage to mess something up that affects not all, but a large group of your sub base?
How does this pass quality control?

Maybe, just maybe, you might want to listen to the portion of your sub base that said the launcher was awful when you introduced it, was awful after a couple months of using it, and are still finding new levels of awfulness with it.

And this coming from a guy who had the shortcut installed to avoid the pain I am going through now.

My launcher halted at APPLYING EVE_ONLINE_590158-598940_WIN.PATCH: 0.0% on first attempt waited over an hour while AFK running errands. Then read forum posts looking for any recent Dev Advice. Unhelpful rants and recommendation to restart launcher so I restarted and opened a Ticket. Big mistake! After re-downloading again still stuck at (3/4): APPLYING EVE_ONLINE_590158-598940_WIN.PATCH: 0.0% for over 30 min.

So apparently the only fix is the repair tool since I can see from other users that works. Fingers crossed. been trying to get on for over 3 hours.

I'm in the same boat as you mate, Trying again after running rep tool for 3rd time.

Do us a favour CCP, bring back the loverly arty login screen, we miss it and the new launcher, tho not sucky, stinks if it causes this much grief.
