I'm not sure there is a great deal left of MD culture for anyone to effect.

I think one of the points you made is relevant to this.

You said that MD needs more active policing. Flakeys countered by saying it didn't do us much good when we had it. But I agree with you and I believe Flakeys is giving the old MD too hard a review.

We had active policing, we had lots of uncollateralised loans, we had more discussion and we had more of a community. We didn't actually have more scams than we have now and investors made a lot more isk from their investments.

The move to lazy/easy mode investing and a full collateral or GTFO attitude has a cost, no matter how prudent it may be, because it has removed much of the activity that fueled MD.

If so then i am giving MYSELF too hard a review.

The times i countered loan requests with questions and factuall links are countless. It did not help one bit because in the end the new guys would still fall for the same **** while the ''older crowd'' would still stand behind those who ''had respect'' blindly.

I have been one of the biggest if not THE biggest investor in unsecured loans over the last years on MD , and that's accounting that i have not been loaning out isk for some while besides a handfull of reqeusts.
It's like warning people for goonscams and/or jitascams. At a certain point you fail to see why you are even bothering playing big brother for the other guy who in the end instead of thanking you only points at you for ''being a troll'' .

If anyone wants to do this then by all means but speaking for myself i'll quote one of my favourite movie lines : '' i'm too old for this ****''.

And BB that current loaning culture of MD you seem to dislike is something you'll have to thank yourselves and the other scammers on MD for.Saying one of the big fuelling parties for loans on MD at that same time you helped killing it is being ''too harsh'' is ironic to say the least.

You would enjoy more if you join the "oh look at them burn" crowd :)

Start with bloopers videos on YouTube and end up in MD sitting on the bench watching human stupidity at best.

Absolutely. But the current situation doesn't need a community, so it's has adapted to that need by absenting itself from the forum.

Because as i edited above in my post , the problem with the community was that a few in that community abused it for own gains.Again BB , something you also where a part of.

So if you look at it purely from an investors perspective the end result wich we have now is 'better' then how it used to be.Wich does not mean that i enjoy it more because i allways loved the gamble of uncollateralised loans. But because it was a gamble in a game , not because it was the best from an investors point of view.

As stated above better did not mean better from a pure investors perspective. It was better for the social interacting in the game though , that i can agree upon.It was a fun way of playing a game of monopoly.

Let me be clear again.I LOVED how MD was and that is something that is lacking currently. But it had it's downside from an investors point of view. That part is slowly being killed off while we are heading for a collateralised loans ONLY erra .

At a certain point you are ''done'' with playing good cop bad cop and for myself that time was at the end of last year.I closed off all my loans and decided not to let myself get carried away with policing threads i had no dealing with in the first place. It is just SO tiresome to repeat the same thing over and over again and seeing it has absolutely no effect.

Yeah, I think we are on roughly the same page on this subject.

And I fully accept my own involvement in MD has not always been positive. But exactly how fun would this be without the scammers?

At least they should be intelligent, and not that jita local crabs we get here :/

the situation now is we get here the jita loosers, that couldn't scam there or spam local fast enough (bot)...it should be reverse.

In my new book - "MD kampf" i explain how we should keep the seperation between noob scammers and sophisticated ones.

Scam or no scam, all are roleplayers. A better word for "scammers" as most loans of these type do-not get funded.

MD is a wasteland these days, due to too many bitter vets sperging in threads with old wise one knowledge. Want to improve MD? stop posting & let the new MD'rs actually get funded. who knows someone might turn into a genuine player, and actually contribute to the community ala VV etc.

Although this loan request is quite unique, in that he attempted to bring in "real world" credibility into eve online. So he was always going to be shot down by sperglords, myself included.

What sort of moron does that? Tells lies on the internet?

Call me a roleplayer one more time...i dare you, i double dare you motha****a...

@ candy - i think you are wrong in some mathers.
Good rule in life is "where there is void, something fills it". Stoping posting with the hope that someone good will fill the void is not a path, its the opposite.
As i said above i dont think there is good/bad, its a developing process that is ever changing and evolving. Now, some may say "i liked how it was before", but nothing never stays the same. Actually, beeing a bittervet is some of that, grunting and saying "the old days were better, the new guys suck". That is the Veteran spirit of looking on things, but it is not true.

All that makes me think that MD doesnt need "improvment", its exactly how it should be. We should let the natural processe do his things, or as we like to call it "Natural selection" :)

I did stop posting for an extended period.

As far as I can tell the only thing that filled the void was a fresh bunch of trolls.
