I have one nitpick about these changes, everything else is awesome.

I would really strongly prefer having Groups of drones listed FIRST, then individual drones. Or an option to choose the order.

Nice as a drone user i thank you but while you are at it, can we have the undock button back where it belongs (ie bottom left corner) please ?
Or at the very least the option to drag'n'drop it there for those who want to.

I pretty much play EVE mouse-only, so I'm a big fan of dragging and dropping. I love these kinds of changes. They look great. Anything that minimizes the interruption of the workflow is welcome, imo.

I'd like to be able to drag locations from the assets window to a chat box without having to set destination and dragging the green destination box from the client.

When I view market information, the groups tab on the market window always maintains the group info of the first item type I view. If I view the market info on a tracking computer II, for example, and then view market info on cap booster 800s, the groups page always retains tracking computer info. It will remain that way the entire session. Sometimes I want to see all the items in a group, in a list, so I hopefully can compare stats and make an informed decision. It only works once. Afterward, I have to go on a scavanger hunt to locate the subgroups. I'm much quicker now than I used to be but shouldn't this function differently? Finding the appropriate subgroup in the navigation tree and clicking it there is the only way I know to refresh the groups page.

Also, how about getting more info from system autolinks? If I hover the mouse over a system on the star map, I get useful info at a glance I can immediately use. System, planets 4, moons 5, station, station, station... If I show info on a system autolink I get the show info window where the same info is presented in a column....viewed through a box. When you get a system with hundreds of moons, that column makes alacrity a challenge. How many stations? How many total moons? Scroll. Scroll. Scroll. I lost count. Would it be possible to add stations or planets submenus to system autolinks? That would be nice too.

P.S. Thanks for adding locator agents to the star map. I've always felt needing a browser to locate them was odd.

Nice changes. Thank you very much, CCP karkur! (tbh dev blogs from CCP karkur are most interesting to me be it Incarna - R.I.P. - or interface changes)

And while we are talking about UI - can we get colored broadcasts (by type) in fleet's broadcast history window? For logis it's not too convenient when all alerts have the same color and small font size, I imagine people with poor vision may be barred from logi role completely.

Same here. When I use drones, I use them by group. If they're ungrouped, I don't want them to get in the way of using grouped ones in the list. It's kinda like nested folders in list view on Windows, folders at the top and individual files on the bottom is (to me at least) the intuitive way to have the list sorted. I don't want to have to scroll down to get at groups because they were pushed off the page by individual drones and I don't want to have the drone window taking up an entire column of screen space just to have easy access to all my drone groups. Think of the carrier pilots! lol

Would have been nice to be able to assist drones from the watchlist itself, so you don't have to search through any fleet member lists at all.

Nice stuff.

But still no way to drag and drop BM, waypoints or entire routes (nice for gate camp evasion) into chat or attachments to EVEmail.

EVE devs must keep the element of convoluted thinking in the UI which makes the game EVE.


But I suspect there was some strange thinking like maybe there was not enough room for both DRONES and WATCHLIST windows on screen. LOL so if voice comm is used more to know when to switch assistance or is at least adequate -- Then DRONE window would have more utiltiy for swapping drones or sucking in drones to warp away (things that are not watchlist related).

But its inevitable that Devs have some small specific set of scenarios that they are most commonly thinking about when designing new solutions. Unfortunately they don't get 2-3 days of mandatory game play afterward to validate whether that fix addressed all issues in the most common situations across all EVE players. Why they still let players have input.

I did look into it a bit, but couldn't figure out quickly how to get that information.

One way to get that information is for the client to simply remember it from the last time the drone was recalled. True if you undocked with a damaged drone there would be no data (The damage level memory would get cleared upon docking to keep coding effort low. No need to track if it got repaired, replaced, etc.), but still having it for the drones you just recalled would be better then nothing.

Spend 0.75 seconds clicking on a drone
Spend 0.75 seconds on a second drone. As you have now spent 1.5 seconds clicking on drones, the radial menu pops up, as 1.5 seconds is longer than 1 second. But this is unexpected as no single click was over 0.75 seconds.
The workaround is to click somewhere else between clicking on drones. That resets the drone counter.

Or: he could mean the game is taking the two clicks in the drone window to be a double click. Im not really sure.

Thanks vincent the issue is if you set your radial menu delay on the first option above zero even if you think you are using the same amount of time to select and pull the drone groups out of the window by the time you to it a third time you are delaying just enough you take too long and the radial menu pops up.
There is a bug that causes no options to show up when you click in the drone window but i haven't nailed down a re-pro yet.
