[Corp Thief] Jemtek

The characters Jemtek and JemtekTSP are currently owned by a corp thief. He slept quietly in RIOT for over a year before stealing roughly 3billion isk in ships from a few of our members.

For a years work this was a pretty awful return but as is common with corp thieves, he claims he has pulled of the great train robbery of our time. He boasts of his 65 billion isk fortune that he has accumulated over his many characters ripping off many corporations and alliances, so I am sure for 14 months in RIOT, 3 billion isk is a real victory  - he stole exactly zero isk from the corporation due to the tight controls I have in place here, he had to resort to stealing from his corpmates.

Whatever happened to proper long-cons from people like the guiding hand social club?

This post had nothing to do with sympathy nor bitterness but is here because any diligent corporation that recruits new members should be doing an eve-search into their background, upon which this post will show up in the results.

Sadly he is able to just sell his characters and move on to the next victim so this post will likely become irrelevant, but until then - recruiters do your homework.

I am happy to provide evidence to anyone who is dealing with his application.

That is all

You could at least make it fun to read .. show us how miserable he failed or something .. this is kinda boring to read .. tho it serves your intended purpose :p

Aye, its not really attempt to drag it through the forums - just as a flag for future recruiters. It seems a bit futile having a long discussion about it as he will just sell the characters and be on his merry way. Kinda wish CCP would make the risk vs reward for corp thieves more balanced as its a bit too easy to get away with potentially a huge reward for little risk.

I have no issue with it being "part of the game" - there is just isnt enough of a penalty for those that persue this profession.

Sorry its a bit boring!

Well, the penalty I see in that particular case, is that he kind of spent the equivalent of over 12 bil to steal 3 bil, granted he kept the accounts subbed for the year he spent into your corp, looks a bit ridiculous indeed.
Then again, you say he "slept" so I don't know if he kept his toons subbed all the way, but if he didn't, you clearly should do something to weed out inactive folks from your ranks.

No no - he was active the whole time. By slept i mean he stayed low-key, didnt take anything in the year up to the point where he took the members ships.

And with plexes its not too much of a strain to keep an account subbed for a year - i guess he thought the reward at the end would eclipse the cost of subbing - but like i say, access to the big ticket stuff in RIOT is very strictly controlled, he earned the right to help move some members stuff after a year and that where it went bad. He did well to keep his intentions hidden for 14 months i grant him that, but shouting from the rooftops that he is some kind of master criminal is a bit much!

Yeah, nothing epic here, ain't really impressive boasting for so little, especially after so long, it's still a lot of time invested for a very little payoff IMO... if it actually even was his intent from the start.

With the underworld of eve it will always hold true that you win some you lose some and he obviously believed he had 'climbed the ranks' as high as he was going to in your corp and made off with what he could so the 3bill is better then a kick in the teeth. I would love to hear him post on his 65 billion in corp thefts because that is a post that truly belongs here Pirate

Indeed, his rank never rised at all to be honest.

He made some claims about stealing some dreadnaughts from his previous corp in one of the mails he sent me yesterday - I contacted them and they say that if he did, they didnt notice so I have no doubt he intended to take us to the cleaners, he is a career con-man.

Seems a lot of huff and bluster to me.

Most theifs dont just invest time in 1 corp, so for 14months probably he had alts in other corps and usually when corp thiefs leave for whatever reason they do 1 of 2 things, take what they can or kill what they can.

TBH 3bil could of been alot worse i guess.

Aye - we lost a rorqual a few weeks back that he claims he had a hand in, he hasnt admitted to doing that and I have no evidence to say that he did (other than circumstantial stuff). And if he did have a hand in it then fair enough. Anyone could have done that to be fair, losing expensive ships is not exactly uncommon - he could have easily given intel to pirates during his first week in the corp, why he would wait a year is beyoned me.

Anyway, thats not the point of the post - not going to cry about whether he had a hand in losing a ship in space, that happens daily. The point is that future recruiters should be aware, that is all.

Yeah that make sense, probably he knew he couldn't rise any further and decided it was time to leave, killed what he could and took what he could. Anyway, this is eve afterall and these things happen daily.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Came here expecting evidence someone called 'Jemtek' was awesome.

Left disappointed.

Jemtek, you need to steal much much more than that in a year to be impressive.
