The Nintendo 2ds, featuring all the best parts of the Nintendo 3ds, but wihtout the Paracetamol requiring 3d features.

Also cutting the cost of the floundering WiiU to $300...

Calling it now, they are going to go third party developer for Sony/Microsoft within the next few years just as Sega did when they bowed out of using off the shelf components to make their systems due to competition from the component manufacturing Sony and Software sugar Daddy Microsoft.

This makes me sad. Nintendo had some really great games and great talent but got stuck in some strange time loop where they would only release face-lifted versions of old games.

That said, if Kirjava called it correctly, I'm going to seriously miss Link. I can't imagine what horrors are in store for him if Sony or Microsoft get a hold of him.

Nono, not taken over by them, just not producing their home consoles anymore. The Wiimote could have worked a peripheral for either console along with Wiimotes, sell the games ect. The WiiU console itself could be removed from Nintendo allowing them to focus on the games, and if and when needed their own controllers for existing machines.

That said, Pokemon Skyrim style MMORPG : we all want it naow Twisted

This looks like an odd retreat. The 3D was the defining feature. I suspect (and this is purely speculation on my part) that perhaps they felt the market wasn't ready for 3D and will quietly discontinue it while pushing the 2D - if they can prove it will sell. I really can't see this space being occupied by both units for long. Again just my take on it.

I do wish Nintendo well in this journey. They have brought some quality products to the market over the years. Losing them in this space would be kinda sad.
