I, for one, am looking forward to welcoming our new Marauder overlords

I'm sure dreads will have an exceedingly difficult time tracking stationary battleships which cannot receive reps.

how? they will die in a fire
Dreads will will bash straight through the tank as if it were a paper towel.

they're enormous so you cant field big fleets of them outside home

they're going to be amazing at shooting sleepers though

i see some PVP niches in home defense situations where no opposing dreads are involved, deploy them at a long range and bring the pain

but anything else they're just sitting ducks

I really want to see them in c4's, where at the moment rr tengus are the only really usable solutions for pve purposes. These bastion beasts will have better damage projection for longer range than the tengus have, so maybe the tengu dominance would break.

Of course it brings a lot more risk, but flying bigger ships is always better :D

Dominance of RR Tengus? LOL. Wake up, look at some of the rebalanced ships and use your brain, instead of using years-old fittings you found on Battleclinic ^^

I like anything that tries to do PVE while sitting still, especially if this sitting still is enforced and has shiny effects telling me exactly when to drop my fleet on them.

Want to see fleets of these in my static connection. plx make it happen ;)

They will be almost as fun to gank as marauders are now, but someone might actually use them this time around. I approve.

It's not the topic for discuss every subcap wh setups but I have to say we've tried a LOT of ships and a lot of setups, everything has its own pros and cons. Tengus most useful advantage is their agility. If **** happens (and **** usually happens in wh's), it's easy to disappear if you sitting in a small shield ship. Thanks for that we have never lost a single farming t3 (yup, not only tengus).
On the other hand total isk income is a bit less than with using high dps setups, and farming become boring after a few...minutes.

If nothing else, these will be impressive for crashing holes mid-fights. Who needs to shove orcas through when you can enter as an apoc, and leave as an archon?

it is an interesting mix of mobility with the MJD and the bastion mode for offence/defence but as stated before i see tears being harvested by dred guns coming to bare. Plus i think the bastion mod needs to allow extra dps, and while were at it make the bastion mod use the same skill needed for the siege mod.

thats if it will allow you to jump with the bastion mode on , not managed to find anything about if that will be possible so far.

as setsune rin said i just cant see them being used for pvp much. there extra tank will mean nothing at all to dreads. the mass of them will limit numbers. For home defence maybe but then if you wantto bring them in as ranged snipers tornados are much cheaper or just use a dread instead.

There tracking and range is nice i guess but with no damage bonus i just cant see them being used at all for how much they cost and the mass they use

Taking into accounts the buff to rails and self rep coming aswell these will be rather decent to warp in as scattered sniper fleet at 250km without logi support. If anything approach you just leave bastion mode and spool up the mjd then keep sniping. The mjd cd is exactly the same as the bastion cycle. No way a blapping dread can keep up with the range unless it start fitting sniper itself
