ECM drones are OP, please save us CCP Rise (aka: Kil2)!
While you are at it, could you possibly look at adjusting ECM to be more in line with other EWAR?

They are WAY more powerful than damage ones in a solo or small gang engagement.
I can understand EWAR that reduces damage/lock speed etc, but totally disabling your opponent for as long as ECM does is overpowered.

ECM Drones and ECM itself is imbalanced in solo and small scale and i think ECM needs to be changed.
However from my recent experience i can say i see a lot less peeps in lowsec use EC-300 that might be due to the new ECCM skills or more peeps grow a pair of balls. I know it is all chanced based etc. but since i have those ECCM skills maxed out i was only once jammed from EC-300 in my Cruiser that happened a lot more before the ECCM skills were introduced.

Anyway the way ECM works is bad game design, it is an imbalanced force multiplier in solo and small scale and it does not matter in fleets bigger than 10 mates. So it is the worst in both worlds in solo and smale scale it is overpowered in medium and especially large scale it does not matter at all.

Yeah, I agree jamming doesn't scale very well, and can be extremely frustrating in solo engagements. I admit to actively avoid soloists or small gangs when I know they will rely on ECM a lot, or counter with overwhelming force. There are ways to cope.

My stance on it is simple. It's known ECM makes small gang fights one-sided quickly. You bring ECM, it's clear to me you don't want a good, fun fight: you play to win and have no qualms about making it unfun for the opposition. So why would I not respond in kind and make you lose to the blob in an unfun way?

When I get the enemy to ECM the wrong ship and pummel them with a gang twice as large, I enjoy their tears for what they are. Yes yes, we're cowards for not immediately attacking your Falcon heavy fleet when it starts camping and we're bad at PVP because we 'need to blob to win'. Whatever. You reap what you sow!

I partly agree with you.
I play to win. Winning is fun(BI-Winning!)! I do not care if someone brings ecm. If We encounter ECM we try to counter it or avoid it. The skills ccp introduced already give you a quite good chance not to get jammed at all.


ECM is used in low sec engegement A LOT....Guardians are always a ECM primary and ecm drones blot out the sun (if you are stupid and have brackets on). To counter that Guardians usually are fitted accordingly and a lot of fleets have a Smartbombship with them.
ECM drones are really not such a big problem as you always can bring your own...or counter.fit your ship/ bring ships to neutralize the big bad falcon (points to Maulus/Keres/Arazu etc.)
