Is it a good idea to make one character for Hauling/Trading/Manufacturing?

Good Day!
After all the revamps and playing the game for a while, I suddenly had a doubt in my skill plan, so I am here to seek advice from the veteran players. I want to be Hauler/Manufacturing/Trader. To that end, I trained upto Iteron V and skilled up the Trade skills too. But many people told me that, it's not such a good idea to have mix the Hauler with Manufacturer/Trader. Is that true?

From my experience having a hauling alt with crappy capacitor/navigation skills sucks pretty bad, so if you are going to start up an alt simply for hauling/trading get those skills up.

I started out an alt as a hauler-trader and now he does a ton of other stuff (jump freighter/logistics/boosting) in addition to hauling and trading.

I would agree that I wouldn't train up hauling and trading on a 'main' character simply because there's so many combat skills to max out and also you might not have the standings to take advantage of all the trade hubs or get your taxes lowered to certain corps. You may tank your security status or join a nullsec corp that's wardecced all the time in which case you wouldn't be able to haul anything.

Not today spaghetti.

The reason people suggest not to train your trader/manufacturer into hauling is because haulers move around alot. This means you would have to train the extra 'remote' skills to continue trading and manufacturing whilst you do your hauling.

Those skills are also limited to the region you are in, so if you are hauling between regions you won't be able to manage your trade orders or your manufacturing line.

Thank you for the quick reply...sounds reasonable...i think i will make this character a manufacturer/hauler and make a different alt for trade.
