It's just another "feature" that was poorly implemented and then consigned to the dustbin. If they lost the AUR crap and the storefront, made everything so that players could manufacture it and possibly customise it colour wise (ala the much anticipated ship skins), people might actually buy the stuff.

The virtual mannequins are quite cool though, just set them to be the enhanced picture on an items show info.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

It will be turned into a Loyalty Store in time.

You'll get AUR for being subscribed and 1,2,3 etc year veteran awards Bear

As it is now, I'd prefer the NEX to disappear.

All game content, vanity or otherwise should be made in-game by player effort.
The NEX store should act to pull game items out of EVE and into the real world. Examples are paying for branded key rings, prints, clothing items of game characters, model ships etc.
Hopefully something positive will come out of this eventually.

Just as long as the prices aren't stupid, managed properly, and contains NO GOLD AMMO!!!

I shouldn't see a problem with developing the NEX store further...

I support the idea of using the NeX Store to customize ships but so long as it's only one piece and not the whole thing.

Since CCP has all these skins based on the NPC corps why dont they put those skins in the LP stores for said corps and make one of the required items being a chip or something that is bought from the NeX store.

As with everything else that's already on the NeX store it should be tradable on the ISK market. Some people could make a living buying PLEX for ISK, getting these chips and selling them back to the market.

Then the paint jobs you buy from the LP store could be sold on the market too.

What I love about this idea tho is it makes people wanna mission for corps they woulda never considered. Imagine how many people rush to get a Quafe skin, or a Khanid navy skin

Edit: 1 PLEX = 3500 AUR right?

Then how about we make these chips only 100 AUR, 35 for each PLEX.

Maybe even 50 if the ship customization thing blows up enough

The only people who want CCP to waste resources on the NEX store and other roleplayer nonsense are furries irl.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

But gold is too soft to be used as ammunition? Or well, let's say you could use it for ammo, but you'd make some terribly pricey ammo that performs very poorly.

As for NEX, well, I'd settle for them releasing most of the stuff they've already done. That are already in the game database. They'd just have to flip a switch to make that stuff available, but I'm sure some microtransaction hater purist would consider the picosecond used to flip said switch a massive waste of dev's time.

That doesnt answer the question, though it helps.

What does being a furrie mean and why are they wrecking EVE?

If you don't know what a furry is, you may wish to keep it that way, what has be seen cannot be unseen.

I'll leave this for you, use at your own risk:

The best thing they could do is just remove the NeX, since it was never even completed and just shoved into the game at a pre-alpha stage with all the functionality missing.

Dead code has no place in release software.

NeX is a dead-end and is simply too dangerous for the game: imagine amount of outrage among Internet socialists if newly introduced sleeve tattoos were presented in the store for $29-79 (their price is around 1.5-4 PLEXes at the moment) instead of form of "free" bonus for collector's edition ($149).

Unless the game is going to become F2P to compete against potentially dangerous Star Citizen there is exactly 0 reasons to introduce new items in NeX instead of standard game mechanics (loot/craft/gifts) - and those mechanics (pants blueprints) will take too much effort from the devs to be finished in this decade. So I wouldn't count on NeX in any form.

TL;DR Pure disappointment, try APB Reloaded for customized photorealistic toons.

At least now you understand why some of us work so hard to make sure WiS and the NEX store stay dead.

Well I didnt look, so I can only assume its because you dont want your eyes melted when some one figures out the clash with everything in existence combo.

Or that you just dont like stuff covered in fur for some reason perhaps due to trauma or animal activism.
Then again I being a mammal, have been covered in fur and hair since birth.
So I find it normal.

Ironic given that your character is bald.

That said I'm not a furry but love a decent RP every now and then. It find it to be so much more rewarding than reading a book or watching a movie because I get to be a part of it. It helps keep my imagination flowing.

I'm all for letting CCP continue with NeX so long as it remains all vanity stuff and then things are introduced at reasonable prices.

I want all the back story and the immersion, but of course not at the cost of limiting the game in anyway. I wanna feel part of a real universe that would keep on living if all the players had vanished over night.

I wanna see more CDIA videos and want a website for EVE news done up like the NYTimes website but with The Scope plastered all over the place. Just take then existing RP style news and put it in a website like that and it's be awesome :D

I understand that WiS wasnt brining any new gameplay to the table so I can accept it being on hold.

But how about we make combat boosters as plentiful and diverse as implants? Make all the best ones only tradable in station in person. Add depth to the bounty hunter aspect by letting player join a DED FW that can scan people for said boosters. Imagine the emergent gameplay that would arise from the black market having to shift itself as DED player caught on to the latest drug hub. The spying in intel channels, the secret agents, all of it.

And then to make low sec a bigger deal by making it contain the tritanium equivalent of gas in larger quantities.

And then give us more pirate agents to work for, not just in nullsec but in lowsec too.

And make sure the combat booster benefits are high enough that we care to use them for their price. Maybe make varieties that provide a huge bonus for only 10 seconds and ones that provide a moderate boost for 10 minutes.

SO MANY POSSIBILITIES
