No I can't say I have enjoyed Eve much at all of late, I read about it more than play it and even that is getting stale.

As for why I can't put my finger on it persay.. but maybe because I want more from an expansion than a few ship value tweaks, but that's not going to happen as long as dust and world of sparkly vampires is sucking at Eve's teat.

Heck I am posting on my alt because my main account has already expired and I didn't even realize it.

FYI it's "per se" not "persay".

I play in spurts. I like to take a few months off and train up new ships then play empire building for a couple months then go PvP once I get bored of playing ISK online. Then I quit and take a few months off and train something new.

So I guess both for me. Probably 6 months out of the year I enjoy it and the other 6 months I wonder why I pay for it.

Not today spaghetti.

No, it does not make me happy. Mostly because of New Order people stinking up Local and the newbie chat channels. That pseudo-preacher spiel could be interesting, if done by somebody with a tiny bit of taste and talent. Instead, it's like a bunch of console button-mashers trying to write their own lines for a high school skit. It's so embarrassingly pathetic that it's lowering the quality of the gaming experience. Not all player-created content is quality content-- how true that is.

Could some civic-minded person help us all out and write some new lines for the New Order guys please?

Do the forums count?

More seriously, Eve does make me happy. I especially love to ██████ ████████ and ███████. ███████ is a bit of a pain in the neck, but ████████ and warping in to ██████ █████ ████████ ██████ in a ██████ to ██████ ████ ███████ is really worth it.

The post/avatar synergy here makes me very happy.

I read your post first, scrolled back up to see what you meant and had myself a little chuckle.

It's been 7 years without new competitors for EVE

You know TOR has really nifty avatars and no non consensual PvP. And it's free now.

Just saying.

I would guess she meant there have been no sandbox MMO competitors..

Also free SWTOR does not count. The limitations of F2P are ridiculous. Its an EA game..

well, the Star Citizen is coming.. In a couple years

Yay, exactly.

Uhm good question i don`t have the answer for it to. I think depend on what i want to do. If i feel the need to pve i do some missions after a hour or so i quit done boring the tears out of me. If i feel the need to farm some isk i go mining do that for some hours then i quit. If i feel the need to pvp here and there well after some hours i quit.

If iam happy with eve well yes.
is it satisfaction to play all day long well the answer is no
Is it boring, after some hours yes boring the tears out of me so to kill that i play other game to. Some couple of League of Legends do the trick to get around the boring time.

So the answer is yes i`m happy with eve but i want to do more, i have no clue how to fixs that.

Happy? No, as far as games go EvE isn't necessarily fun and that means it doesn't make me happy. But that's not my objective when I play EvE.

Enjoy? Yes, I play EvE for the excitement of it. I don't lose gun upgrades or items for being killed in other PvP oriented games and I find the risk of significant loss exciting.

Yes Eve makes me happy. It allows me social interaction when I want it, rather it be from corp mates, or local. It offers me trading and mission running when I want to be involved but don't want to group with other. I can mine when I can't dedicate 100% of my attention to eve but I want a distraction, and I can go PVP when I'm in a mood where I've been pissed off and want to blow someone up.

I love eve, and hate the months I don't have the iso / rl money to afford my subscription.

It depends. Some times in past it has, sometimes it hasn't.
In future though I think it will make me happy much more than it makes me sad (and more importantly it will expand my intellect)

If it wasn't fun, i wouldn't spend the time to play and definitely not pay.

Fleeting up is huge amounts of fun for me. Solo PvP is also pretty exiting, even just flying around low/null with my wife is great. One day we will even get a kill! Not such a fan of grind, but i do a few sites a day for POS fuel. Sleepers are not easy NPC even in the easy WHs.

I enjoy playing eve because it lets me do things that I either won't or can't do in real life (Space Ships, Warfare, being rich, being immortal,etc.). Please implement timer rollbacks for faction warfare plexes.

If so, why?

If not, why?
I enjoy the organization of PI: laying out a production plan, setting up and then executing it... and seeing great results. It is relaxing.

I enjoy PvP: laying out the plan, setting up, and then executing... and watch it usually fall part and having to react quickly. It isn't relaxing.

Both make me happy.

I'm still in the "wow, there's so much to do" phase, and I've fallen in with a good crowd, so yes, EVE keeps me coming back. I wouldn't say that it always makes me happy, because 'happy' is a misleading word. It's not all sunshine and rainbows and rewards. It's just unsatisfying enough to keep me pushing forward.

It also requires me to step outside my comfort zone almost as a matter of course, which is part of the thrill.

Like Andrea, I come from a MU* RP background, but I've decided to try all this other stuff out that I'm not used to. I've played very few videogames in my time, and EVE is my first MMO, so things like real-time PVP are fresh and novel.

i do enjoy eve. i suppose it does make me happy too. and i'm still surprised, when i stop to think about it, that i do. this is not the kind of game i usually like playing. on the surface it seems remarkable. i don't really like science fiction. i never gave a damn about spaceships. however, despite all that, when i did the trial...i found something in this game i hadn't really had in other games before. some raw nature in it. unforgiving. where every bit of enjoyment you have on a particular day balances on a knives edge and can, oh so easily, fall off to either side with just bad planning, bad execution...or just plain bad luck.

it was a unique experience. plus, i have met some really cool people in my time playing. strong friendships that transcend just being "logged in." the bonds that i've made simply make the game all that more worthwhile and enjoyable when i play.

Haha, oh my eury

But yup, I'm looking at 5 years this November and I find the same still true. People are still the best reason to login.

I also like doing crazy, "for the **** of it" stuff. They're the stuff stories are made of.
