The new currency will be named NISK and the exchange rate will 1 NISK = 1000 ISK .

What impact would it have on the eve economy ?

Edit : it is not about introducing a new currency that will compete with the actual ISK it is about shifting the value of isk by a 1000.

First think, then post.

What impact would it have on the eve forums ?

The simplicity of the currency is fine as it is... There is no need for it to be changed to such a way...

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

It will leave a sour taste in everyone's mouth and then CCP would release Isk Classic and make trillions.

The idea is not about adding a new currency , it is changing the value of the isk by a 1000 factor .

New franc

In January 1960 the French franc was revalued, with 100 existing francs making one nouveau franc. The abbreviation "NF" was used on the 1958 design banknotes until 1963. Old one- and two-franc pieces continued to circulate as centimes (no new centimes were minted for the first two years). Inflation continued to erode the franc's value, but much more slowly than that of some other countries. The one-centime coin never circulated widely. Only one further major devaluation occurred (in August 1969) before the Bretton Woods system was replaced by free-floating exchange rates. When the euro replaced the franc on 1 January 1999, the franc was worth less than an eighth of its original 1960 value.[citation needed]

You seem to have posted your idea before you got to the part where you explain the needs and/or reasons for doing this. The edit button should help you fix that.

it is not about introducing a new currency

make up your mind first, think about reasons for it and against it, then go to the Ideas section of the forum and post your idea there.

tbh your idea isnt worth creating another dumb thread, so let me just get on the topic a bit:
about that RL currency value-change. there are many RL currencies that have been replaced by new ones with a certain fixed exchange rate and in RL there is a good reason for it, it sucks to take 5 kg of money to the bakery just to buy bread. and there was NOTHING that was worth less than that exchange rate (if everything costs more than 1000 cent then yes you can easily change the currency to something with the exchange rate you want)

in eve there is no reason for it because there is a lot of stuff worth a lot less than 1000 isk.

with NISK you wouldnt be able to buy tritanium or certain ammo etc. since you would have to buy it with that new currency the value of it would be the lowest possible, tritanium would have to cost 1 NISK. the result would be that everything else would get more expensive and you'd end up with pretty much the same situation we currently have with ISK. and btw that 'situation' isn't a problem so be happy you had an idea that's not a solution for a non existent problem. hurray you are the most useless eve player EVER.

Do you have trouble counting the zeros? I see no other reason for NISK.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.
