Scanning broken at times

I live in a WH so this drives me nuts. If I use the preset 4AU formation and scan around a planet I may get the red dot for a cosmic signature located within 6/8 probes, I can then move the formation directly on top of the red dot and scan again (with out changing formation/AU) and then it disappears! Not located within ANY of the probes. I know I'm not the only one who has this issue, I've seen others complain about it in my corp.

This doesn't only happen when using the preset 4AU formation, I just used that as a sure example (however it seems to happen on that the most). I never seemed to have this issue till the latest patch.

I have seen this as well on occasion, although it may be a symptom of the '3 probe hits fail' known bug.

Check your filters?

IIRC if you have filters set, as soon as you scan down a sig to a level where you know what type of sig it is, if it is filtered, it disappears.

i happened to have this too, and no filter issue involved, this is clearly a bug, but since i don't probe that much often anymore tanks to the new "exploration", i did not encounter this that much often

Another thing that I just noticed is if you finish another site in the system and this just finished site despawns the other scan results are reset as well and you cannot warp to the other sigs that were scanned to 100% before.

Left half is the result after the data is gone, right half is with both sites scanned to 100%. Redeploying probes and scanning again brings the remaining site back to 100% and warpable.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

The same problem persists also in 1.1. The sites are scanned to 100% but as soon as one signature or anomaly vanishes from the system, you cannot right click warp to the signature. Only the button works. The right click menu only gives the ignore/clear results options.

Just happened to me at once in hi sec.

No red dot even at the first scan.

No filter and no change on my ship fitting.

Look like more on combat probe.

same for me, i use probes every day

no red dot in any case ... i can have have a red circle when 2 probes hit a res or a red sphere if only one probe hits

If i set the range of probes to a larger one then move the intersection zone to cover the circle or the sphere i should have a red dot

if ever i have a 100% res it s ok i can see the location and only in that case

broken ... and pitiful
