Fairly sure US/UK/FR Forces will be going head to head with Russian and Chinese troops in Syria any day now. Hold onto your hats. Things are about to get FUBAR.

It's so crazy. Why would Assad and his army, clearly with the upper hand in the war against the Islamist rebels, use chemical weapons? It would be an invitation to give other, western, countries and excuse to march in there and dispose of Assad. It's not like they aren't already supporting the rebels. "Humanitarian" my ass. Do you think a ragtag team of rebels from, not only Syria, but Iran, Egypt, Morocco, even Germany, France and Belgium, fighting for an Islamic caliphate in Syria, would have any idea how to make chemical weapons? Let alone use them effectively?

And why do you think the UN was being shot at when they tried to get on the site of the supposed regime-executed chemical attack? So they don't find out the truth.

Syria - our little puppet of the '10s. Iraq was the '00s. Serbia the '90s. Afghanistan the '80s. It goes on and on.

Just now, SPIEGEL.de, a brittle facade of journalism of what it once was, declared that Syria could "also potentially support Lebanon with biological or chemical weapons". See how the media tries to influence us? "Also support" as if they were already using them! Ridiculous!

I guess the most significant thing about all this, at the end of the day, is that; the UNITED NATIONS is now being completly undermined and has very little perpose in the contemporary world.

Once WW3 is done there will be need for a new version of the League of Nations (defunct) United Nations (defunct)

This will be the one World Government.

Why is it that after every major nullsec war there is a resurgence of people praising ~wulfpax~ on the forums?

Declare war on eve, Start destroying every poco you see, you're bound to ruffle some jimmies and get the blood flowing again.

Who even cares about pocos?

Anyone that produces or uses tech II, pos fuels and any other items that require planetary produced items?

Is there such a bottleneck that any one region of space is worth taking for its planet resources?

Yea, war. Especially since you outnumber anyone you would go up against at about 10 to 1.

I hear a lot about carebears in this game, but you can't get any more carebear than this:

What means this word, "carebear?" Is it something to fight a war over?

BTW, bummer that our high sec guerillas ops aren't providing sufficient entertainment yet. We're working on it, but the effects are still pretty much limited to local individual CFC members....

From what I have seen, the Ice Interdiction is keeping plenty of folks entertained during certain hours. The problem from my perspective is that it is just a temporary, niche thing. I suppose that one could define a war similarly, but, meh.

So I guess that means you're not going to incite an internal civil war or seize power via a coup d'état? Come on, stop thinking small. As a not very bright teenage girl once said: YOLO

just blast spacemonkeys, you should execute a corp in the CFC to assure the others don't mess with you... its evil but it has to be done from time to time to assure you don't lock like softies, nullsec has to be ruled with an iron fist to keep it under control

But if we looked big and mean, then we might scare you away. And we can't have that! Space friends?

thanks for making a big chatbox out of the game

Don't you go blaming me for EVE's terrible interface design!

You sure are ungrateful after all the time Theta Squad has spent trying to teach you how to gank people.

nobody teached me a thing, and if some tried, I just did the complete opposite... you might should do that as well someday to make this game exciting and not so much predictable

Go shoot something then.

EDIT: I was a bit vague there, Most of the content is created by action, not sitting around. Stop being lead and start leading.

Yourself, a group, whatever, no point sitting around and doing nothing. Go live up the goonies name and kill something

Day trips across several regions of space to harass an enemy are not fun for either party.

For the aggressor, it is a long and boring slog across a huge expanse of space with the promise of maybe. Maybe the aggressor will find and kill some renters who are ratting or mining; maybe the aggressor will stumble across a home defense fleet and have a brawl; or, most likely, everyone will safe up and ignore the aggressor until they get bored and go home. This is a somewhat infrequent occurrence, exactly because it stands so likely to end in boredom. Some groups, both within my alliance and in hostile alliance, undertake covert (or overt) deployments to enemy space and hotdrop them; but, even that is a bunch of sitting around and waiting for something to maybe happen, and it is very restrictive for what else someone can be doing. Newbies especially, and those people with only a single account, are hard-pressed to find something fun to do during peacetime exactly because of this.

War on the other hand is entirely different.

Once a war effort has been mobilized, there are things to do all day every day. Most days during the Fountain Campaign there were a dozen or more fleets that were formed up, and every form up was either to attack an objective or fight a hostile fleet. You could call a war theater a target rich environment: once deployed, on a large scale, there are enough things to shoot and enough people nearby and ready to shoot them that things can be shot more often than they cannot. Whether a member of the aggressor or defender forces, a player in a war theater has things to do. And because there are things to do, more people show up and in turn there occur even more things to do.

War is great, because everyone from brand new players to seasoned line members to fleet commanders have something to do pretty much whenever they log in. Peace is boring in that the opposite is true: unless you count shooting red crosses or mining to be "something to do," there is very little to be done during peacetime. And that is mostly a consequence of how big space is: as stated above, a day trip into hostile space is a several-region trek which just seems an insurmountable wall of apathy and effort, especially when there is no clear objective other than, "maybe we will muck about and kill a few dudes but most likely they will ignore us and we will go home bored."

So let's have a war!

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much would you mind losing this war and seeing your alliance and coalition dismantled?

Goonfleet/waffe/swarm/platoon has endured a lot throughout its history, and while it would undoubtedly make many people uncomfortable I don't think a lost war -- even one that caused the CFC to fracture -- would drive goons from the game. The worst case scenario for me is that I would go play some other game with goons rather than EVE Online; but, I don't think the goon guild in EVE would just give up and disband as a result of a lost war. We rally behind war and hardship, because that gives us a reason to log in and a cause to grit out teeth and fight for. Maybe you have some secret information that I don't about some existential threat to GSF or the CFC?

The question was more towards if you would care if you lost all your space. After being on the losing side of two sov wars, it isn't fun (unless you don't care about losing everything you and your friends have worked for). Do you care if you lose your space and assets that might be trapped? Are you willing to help friends and compatriots flee from the ruins of what was once your home region should you end up on the losing side? Even if the Swarm never disbands and Goonwaffe avoids being Kartoon'd again, how many will stick alongside you if you end up on the losing side of a war, and will you still stay with them if you lose all of the sov you have enjoyed for it's spoils and get to experience the joy of NPC nullsec?

My point being in this wall of text is that losing sucks unless you don't care; and if you don't care about losing and are ready to fight, then you either have to shed the blues beside of you or fight another coalition. Goonswarm is the largest alliance in terms of member count, outposts held, and systems secured (not counting renters) even though it barely uses a portion of that. With the current affairs of nullsec being as they are, coalitions don't want to fight each other because the stakes are too high for even a gambling man to risk them. The next war between the CFC and N3 will destroy one and cripple the other undoubtedly.

I think your questions are better posed at one of our senior leadership, or the senior leadership of N3, than at me.

Entertaining looking through there war reports also. I guess the op doesn't want to fight the ones they are getting spanked in.

Or if you want a real battle make it your task in life to kill off BL or PL (Sorry guys just the first names that came to mind)

Plenty of targets out there

The plan was to kick test out of fountain and take it for the cfc. Test might still have 8k members but they're spent right now. They barely put up a fight at their peak.

TEST is defeated. The number of EVE characters still in their EVE guild doesn't really mean anything.

This happened before when VFK, DKUK and YA0 were sieged by the Joiner Coalition of PL, NCdot, Ev0ke, RDN, etc. and we simply moved non-PvP assets to Empire and stocked up on fleet doctrine ships. This was after having lost several tech moons, CR/PB/F station systems and after our "allies" in the NC were completely conquered. We did not failure cascade because of the prospect of losing a war then and I strongly doubt we would now.

I resubscribed for VFK 2012, when the Horn of Goondor was sounded and the Posters of Lowtax answered.
