I am not a GSF/CFC director or finance guy, so I have no idea how much money we make. It's enough to keep me and other active FCs salaried through PLEX, and it's enough to fund a bunch of other nice programs, and it's enough to hold all of our space, and so on. Folks who do PVE in nullsec are individually capable of around 100 million ISK per hour, but that says nothing to how valuable it would be for an individual corporation or alliance to own any given amount of space. The costs of fuel and sovereignty and other infrastructure concerns are the affairs of folks far more invested in spreadsheets than am I.

You're clearly not up to speed so let me help you get there: IT Alliance, the NC and SoCo all went down despite those things all existing and giving them what you seem to believe is an insurmountable advantage

All I know is that I'm not going to organize 10,000 people (many of which I can't stand) to lead a crusade in an internet spaceship game to defeat an opponent I am, for the most part, indifferent towards. Not unless somebody wants to pay me real currency.

Then you blatantly do not understand the mindset of people who lead alliances, coalitions, or fleets. Or for that matter, guilds, raids, platoons, or whatever other collective groups appear in other games. People like to lead, even when it is leading to do a thing they might not have a personal investment in, because being a leader is fun. Being able to look at a map, or a DPS chart, or a battle report, or an Arena Rating, or some purple pixels, or a flashy title over your elf's head, and say, "I did that," is nice. Being able to be provably good at your chosen hobby, to be able to laugh at scrubs like yourself and say, "hate me because I am better than you," and point to your dilz, is a great feeling that feeds the egos of people across all age groups and across all MMOs. Ask me about my 2v2 rating of 2300; ask me about my top lane Jax; ask me about my no scope 420 fps skills; ask me about how I led fleets for 12 hours a day for two months; and so on. These are things that people take pride in, even if they're not provably very good at it, because they like to think themselves better.

And other people are just altruistic. They do it because they know it will help the group. On my friend's minecraft server, I will log on for a couple of hours and just go exploring and mining then deposit a bunch of ore in a chest and log off. It's fun for me, because I know I am helping and that I am contributing to other people's fun whom I care about. I swapped my sleep schedule around from playing in USTZ to leading Siege Fleets in AUTZ, because I knew that our coalition was weak in that time zone and that I could help. I feel good about it. Getting some PLEX per month to keep me from having to stop leading fleets and go farm rats is a nice gesture, but it's nothing like the RMT salary you seem to think exists.

I wonder if perhaps you are Gevlon Goblin. Your lack of understanding of human motivations resembles him.

No that is not it, not really. The OP is here to gloat, nothing more nothing less. It is nauseating but there is no logical response to this breast beating.
I'm giving the OP the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you're right, maybe not. Let's withhold judgement for a little.

@Andski: You're cute.

Andski used to be cute, but then he grew up and decided that GSF was too good for Rifters.

Now, if GSF collectively grew a pair and shed the meat shield and sycophants it has surrounded itself with, then maybe you might get more fights. At the same time, how about not paying off (or attempting to) any group that is a thorn in your side. LOL, Goon Sycophants Federation is quite fitting for the CFC

But you already know this and are fearful of the consequences of such actions. Your inglorious leader prefers the meta game over actual game content, so nothing will change in the short to medium term.

OP, just on the off chance your concerns are genuine, then I suggest, whilst you seek content in high sec, you go whine on the SA forums and see what kind of response you get there, because posting on EVE-O GD isn't going to get you what you want.

Again the popular response to there being no war involving the CFC seems to be that the CFC should start a war. What the hell? I don't know if you're trying to covertly be a goon sycophant yourself or if you're really this stupid, but you are effectively just ruling out any chance that there exists any other entity in the game that has the competence or the wherewithal to attack, and by correlation to endure being attacked by, the CFC. Is that your position, that the CFC is an invincible blob? I would hope that's not the case, and that other entities with similar size and superior supercapital numbers are not just paper tigers. Do you have some secret intel on N3 or PL that you'd like to divulge in that regard?

The "sky marshall of your heart" was the one QQ'ing about lack of content. If you have a problem speak to him/her. I merely offered the simple solution of removing that cotton wool comforter you have yourselves wrapped up in. But, you and I both know that will never happen vOv

Quick correction: it's sky captain, not sky marshal. Do not overstate my importance.

just blast spacemonkeys, you should execute a corp in the CFC to assure the others don't mess with you... its evil but it has to be done from time to time to assure you don't lock like softies, nullsec has to be ruled with an iron fist to keep it under control

But if we looked big and mean, then we might scare you away. And we can't have that! Space friends?

Make it your new war to not take tests systems but actually kill them off completely.
8k+ members is still loads fo targets to kill Twisted

Or if you want a real battle make it your task in life to kill off BL or PL (Sorry guys just the first names that came to mind)

Plenty of targets out there

War against BL or PL would be a pretty awesome thing. It will happen eventually, I am sure. I look forward to it.

But for now, killing TEST off is not really a campaign of the sort I am wanting. As they live in low sec and have no assets in space to defend, this amounts to camping an undock for hours on end without bubbles while carriers play station games. I understand that some folks in Empire find that sort of game play fun, e.g., the wardec corps that hound the Jita undock, but it is not something you mobilize a large coalition to do and field large fleets to accomplish. We could easily camp the undock with a few hundred dudes for a while, but TEST would have no incentive to undock and we would just be wasting each other's time for nothing. Real wars are fought when one or both sides have an incentive to fight, because they have something to lose or gain.

Yes who wants to take their shot at a blob.. Maybe break up your alliance and duke it out with them for fun. Why you need all those people anyways.

Lots of people want to take a shot at the blob. Plenty of folks fought against us in Fountain. And on the other side of space, plenty of folks are fighting a blob just as big as the CFC. "The blob," honestly, is a tired line and has been since its first utterance as a rationalization for cognitive dissonance and logistical failure. Employing as many people as you can muster to fight a common foe is a simple element of strategy that has served humanity forever, and it is no different in the pretend space future. But perhaps you are right: perhaps we have become victims of our own successful diplomacy. We shall see what the future holds.

If there are all these fights against your "blob" then why *****? Stupid..... and quit trying to use big words it doesn't work for you.

Because there isn't a fight right now.

This is curious to me, too. Why does every suggestion in this thread come back to what the CFC should do? Is there no one left in EVE Online who wants to do things for "the lulz," or for the "good fights," or whatever else people are calling fun these days? Surely among the various entities still hostile to the CFC, and to GSF particularly, one of them would like to step up to the plate and show that they have the courage, and the competency, to match their convictions?

People that you are referring to are having fun by playing the game and not creating ridiculously dumb posts on the GD forums.

Of course, the people I am referring to prefer CAOD and Kugu.

The only way you make money in a war is if you are taking assets that generate income; e.g., moons, systems to rent.

How exactly would you suggest we make money off of fighting mercenaries whom we are paying?

You miss us already, don't you?

That's so sweet.

You have no idea!

I personally hold no animosity against TEST, because I was not subscribed during whatever led up to the Fountain war. When last I played EVE prior to this war, TEST was part of the CFC and helping us defend VFK against an attempted head shot by the forces of elite PVP. Prior to that, TEST was part of the coalition that took Fountain from IT Alliance. I have no clue what created bad blood between our alliances, but it's not my concern as to why some entity is red. It's just my concern to shoot it.

I imagine gaming websites talking about Eve, and describing how the most powerful coalition in the game needs to pay mercs to attack them in order to "create content" for its members. I am sure this would help attract many new players to Eve Online!

Only because you didn't imagine it on TMDC first, EVEs premier source of filtered news.
They'd put the best spin available on it, sell it to CCP and get percentages.

I love the smell of spinned news in the morning, it smells like ... Politics!

How exactly would you spin, "There is no reason for anyone to generate content in EVE Online?"

It's so crazy. Why would Assad and his army, clearly with the upper hand in the war against the Islamist rebels, use chemical weapons? It would be an invitation to give other, western, countries and excuse to march in there and dispose of Assad. It's not like they aren't already supporting the rebels. "Humanitarian" my ass. Do you think a ragtag team of rebels from, not only Syria, but Iran, Egypt, Morocco, even Germany, France and Belgium, fighting for an Islamic caliphate in Syria, would have any idea how to make chemical weapons? Let alone use them effectively?

And why do you think the UN was being shot at when they tried to get on the site of the supposed regime-executed chemical attack? So they don't find out the truth.

Syria - our little puppet of the '10s. Iraq was the '00s. Serbia the '90s. Afghanistan the '80s. It goes on and on.

Just now, SPIEGEL.de, a brittle facade of journalism of what it once was, declared that Syria could "also potentially support Lebanon with biological or chemical weapons". See how the media tries to influence us? "Also support" as if they were already using them! Ridiculous!

We are getting a little off the topic of space ships and space wars.
