now that rokhs are dead, we're gonna use ours to pipebomb some macks in HS later today. if you see a big blob of multiboxed ice miners, please let me know the system and time (since they'll stay in roughly the same set of systems usually). it'd give us a good target to aim for once we're online. never done it before but i figure three or four 8-bomb rokhs should annihilate barges or exhumers easily. does concord deactivate your bombs when they show? should i bother with tank or scrams?

isk for sec status tags is appreciated but i figure you'll all want to wait until after we violence the boats before you send it. for now intel is all i need =) well, that and info about the best way to do it.

i make spreadsheets for pretty cheap. contact me for more info.

Do the numbers first. EM is usually the least tanked resist on a Mackinaw, but you should get a passive scan done first. If you go EM smartbombs, use tech 2 ones or meta 4, and fit at least one EM tanking module on your ships.

Make sure you hit a 0.5 system, I'll PM you four that are worth a look (one is on a highsec island but still manages to get bot fleets; I'm sure you can handle trekking through lowsec to get there).

CONCORD will not deactivate your smartbombs, but they will neut you heavily. Even with two or three cap boosters cycling, you will have cap issues before they pop you.

Also, do not do this in expensive pods. It is possible that you might have some of your fleet lose their ships earlier than others, and you don't want those pilots losing high grade pirate sets by accident.

After your gankfest, I believe lowsec L5s are the fastest way to recover security status, with L4s not far behind, or you can spend potentially a lot of ISKies on tags.

Rokhs are like trophy wives - nice to look at but unable to do anything useful.

You do not know where to gank.
You do not have security tags to fix your status afterwards.
You do not know CONCORD mechanics.
You do not know how to fit.
You have never done it before.
You are not all online.
You do have Rokhs.

Why not just donate your Rokhs to Goons or the New Order?

excellent info all around. we were already planning on fitting some em resists and two heavy boosters, so it looks like we had the right idea there. as for pods, well, we're all using blank ones, for obvious reasons =)

how else does someone learn? we know basic concord mechanics because we've done freighter ganking before, but you rarely fit smartbombs on a talos =) we know the basics of how to fit it, but not a few specifics that wouldn't be known unless someone's done it before. we weren't online right at that moment, but botters run most days all day, so an area is sufficient.

*shrug* i know C&P is mostly shitpoasters, but i figured adding content is a way to get constructive responses. looks like some kids had school off today =)

Seems more like you have not learned anything when all you have got are some Rokhs. You could just sell some of them to buy the tags, but this did not occur to you and instead do you want to receive these on top of everything else. Now you want to whine about not getting "constructive responses", because really you want to be schooled like the kid that you are. When are you going to admit that you have not thought this through?

actually, you'll note i specifically didn't ask for isk for tags until we'd blown stuff up. not like i need the isk, just mentioned it'd be appreciated, since that's been offered in past gank threads i've seen. interesting that you locked on that out of everything. as it is i'll probably only use the tags to get to -5 and then i'll rat my way out of that. won't take too long with the sov we've got =) i think that will cost less than the bombs on the rokh. i think that bittervet is just bitter that other players are finding fun wherever they may instead of forum-warrioring in station.

In the time you are waiting for answers could you have just fitted your Rokhs and ganked some first ice miners. It does not need an EFT genius to fit smartbombs to a BS and have some fun.

So now are you not only waiting for answers while over-thinking one of the most primitive game-plays in EVE, but you also feel the need to talk about having fun and who is and is not a forum warrior.

Here is an idea for you: why do you not skip the whole charade and go straight to announcing your CSM candidacy?

jesus, what an *******.

i posted that post at 2am last night/this morning, with an intention of doing this when my buddy got off of work tonight. figured i'd "think this through" and get some answers ahead of time. didn't realize that i'd be offending a pretentious jackwagon like yourself.

You have not offended anybody. All I am saying is that you are better off by giving away your ships. Seeing how this now got you all out of your comfort zone do you have to agree that this is your best choice.

While I commend your desire to mess with miners, I'm going to be a bit pretentious here:

You are not pipebombing. Pipebombing is done in Low/Null wherein a "pipe" (well-travelled arterial route, usually a Hi-Low-Null link) is bubbled and you smartbomb the bejesus out of anything that gets caught (preferably pre-meditated murder on a fleet using a cyno). As popularised by Rooks and Kings

You want to smartbomb some miners.

Then I wish you good luck and hope you can return with a story about the hardships you have gone through and a happy ending rivalling Walt Disney's Cinderella, where you and your friend finally managed to blow up some barges. Roll

Pipebombing in the original sense is null only (conceivably could work in a wormhole but less likely to find appropriate targets).

Be aware of the smartbomb range (only 5000m on battleship ones, think 4000 on cruiser ones) as well. The marks need to be closely packed, and you should scout targets in a mining barge or exhumer to find the right pack of botters.

You do realize how insulting this is to those of us whom frequent C&P regularly right? First asking for isk when your Alliance has more than enough to pay for the mere 200 mil to go from -10 to 0.0 per pilot and also the principal. Some of us look on having positive sec status as a weakness.

Also suiciding Rokhs into miners is stupidity at it's finest. You are far better off selling the ships and purchasing a **** load of meta 4 catalysts. You could do far more damage and seeing as about 100 mil can get you roughly 85-90 fully fit catalysts thats a hell of alot of dead miners.

Or just give me the Rokhs. With a HG Crystal set/strong blue pill and dual xl asb's I'll turn it into a death mobile. The Rokh is a wonderful ship if used properly.
