I have a friend who after 4 years and a lot of badgering on my part came back to eve all he wants to do is have a pos in hisec like he did 4 years ago and do his research and building in 1 pos . When we checked the moons around Caldarri hisec all the moons in 0.5 , 0.6 and 0.7 were taken and most had offline pos on them , this just seems to be a ridiculous situation where seems cops/players are dropping towers on there not using them and then scamming to sell the moon , can something be done ??

My Idea
for EG if a tower is offline in hisec for 48 hrs (or whatever time CCP ) get it removed .

It is ruining part of the game for some people , like i said my friend left and is now back has 3 accounts but is looking to cancel again due to not being able to play his game . I am sure CCP would like him to keep his 3 accounts and spend money .

I can see the replies now about how scamming is part of the game , i know it is but would you rather someone cancelled thier accounts so you have less to scam from or would you rather keep a moon for nothing . To me i would rather more people play the game and that maybe hisec moons be left out of scamming .

Not a right ok , so he earns the right by doing standings yet cant put one down coz YOU say he doesn't have a right to do so , who died and made you king of the castle ??

Having once been 100% care bear, I have to agree with the replies so far. Hire a merc corp if you have to. If somebody parks a car in front of a fire hydrant, the thing doesn't just despawn because it's in the wrong place.

Actually, I just thought of something. Still wardec or hire a merc corp to wardec the squatting corp. But what happens in real life when a vehicle is sitting somewhere it shouldn't be, it gets a ticket and if it's not removed within a certain amount of time it gets towed by law enforcement. If CCP actually looks at and considers this thread. I'd actually up-vote this system.

Tower goes offline
Faction controlling space eve-mails CEO of owning corp with intention of removal if not reactivated within X amount of time.
Tower Stays Offline
Amarr/Caldari/Gallente/Minmatar Patrols break it down and haul it away. Maybe or maybe not fine the owners for "littering" their space with debris. This fine may, or may not, allow the corp to get their POS and modules back. If the fine goes unpaid, then the tower and mods are gone for good. If the fine gets paid, they can have their stuff back but it'll be placed at a militia station or something, not reassembled. How about that?

Why not drop them a line offering to buy at cost? Suspect apathy is more prevalent than your conspiracy theory.

I have no problem with that idea at all the second part that is , but lets take the first part wardec as i said easier said than done 1 . i dont have any chars that can help him , 2. his chars don't have the skills to shoot it himself , 3.he also doesn't have the isk to hire a merc corp . he wants to put a tower down to do research and start making some sort of money besides doing his missions , and no i don't have the isk to lend him .

Yeah i agree but seems that as i said seems a scam coz you pay them but they don't remove the tower you lose the isk and still cant put your own tower down . Also seems to me that very few people can be trusted with there word in this game .

No one. But it appears that some "king" put up THEIR castle in a place you desire. You want the real estate? You have to find some way to take it.

Negotiate and strike a deal (hint: pay them AFTER the POS has been taken down) or rip it down by force (pro-tip: if you have no money then pay for the POS removal with the offending POS itself. Some POS mods can range from 20 to 75 mil per).

The right comes from being able to kill the pos. I mean if he can't get together the 2 bs it takes to kill a pos how is he going to defend it?

It's more like he's unwilling to exercise his right to take over the space. Why should the game hand-hold you when there's a way to accomplish what you're trying to do in the first place?

This is eve, you have no rights, all you have is the ability to do something. The reason jet cans are taken away is because of lag reasons, not so you can put more jet cans down at the same place.

If the corp that owns the POS still exists then use war-decs, as basically everyone else here is suggesting. Either you do it or have someone else do it, 4-5 Oracles can kill a POS in like 4-5 hours I think, probably way less if it's offline like you say.

If the corp is closed then petition CCP and they'll remove the POS.

This is why you use a third party service. When your tower is anchored, they get their money.
