since CCP is at it, why not allow repair drones to repair you!

To those say NO pvp will get worse ... think of the drones as the first targetable subsystem.

There really is NO logical reason other than that's how they've always been ...

If you're worried about ECM then get over it. Really, it's dumb, they should be able to rep you.

Fully supported, the fact your minions can't actually target you is a bit ridiculous and would greatly increase the utility of the repair drone which is used very sparingly.

First, CCP would have to give us the ability to target our own ship.

Second, is your tank really that bad that you need drones to help supplement it? I'd rather my drones be out killing.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

You don't need to be able to lock your own ship, your drones can return to bay and orbit, add "repair ship" to list, hell add a 20 second lock delay if you want.

Aye, repair drones should have "Repair my ship" on the context menu. This would make them much more useful, and it is fair for PVP because they can simply be shot at.

Long awaited change. I can't think of any reason why this is not implemented already. This has actually come up several times when I'm teaching new players about repair drones. And the thing is, the reason they all ask is becuase it simply makes sence and therefore should be possible.

+1 support in principle,

though you may have to balance ship tanks on drone heavy associated boats that can chuck out multiple extras as needs and continue with the extra tank for longer. Otherwise you'll include a bias in favour for those ships with an increase in tank as a result.

No. By using drones for local repair, they're sacrificing their main source of DPS. It balances itself.

I disagree completely as if they are drone boats they cant afford to lose the dps, and if they do, who cares they can't hurt you. They have the option, we should all have options.

I agree completely. Your drones should be able to repair you w/o the need to target.. simply have it as a menu option. And in all honestly, we need to have a 'simple' ability to 'select' ourselves, instead of targeting. We don't want those Ogre II's firing on ourselves now do we Cool

You don't have to target your own ship if it is a right click option on the drone.

Just because some people won't want to use a repair drone does not mean there shouldn't be any. If using them is a poor choice, let your enemy make a poor choice. People are using shield boosters all the time despite that they could put an offensive system there. The vast array of options is what makes ship fitting fun.

Yes yes yes so I don't have to somehow fit a repper on every extended armor buffer roaming fit or just give up and go shield.
