Hey all,

Just bein bored one day, I was thinking, could there be a possible fit for a ASB Drake? This wouldn't be in the context of PvP, just for missions, sites, wh's, etc.

Now I don't know a whole lot about drakes, being a gallente pilot, but I was just curious if you could pull it off.

Not exactly sure what the fit would look like, just wanted to know everyones opinions, but a rough (really rough) draft would be:

Hi slots: launchers/salvege
Mid: ASB, MWD, boost amp, extender, 2 dedicated resist amps
Low: BCS x 3 plus maybe a DC or something, maybe a CPU or PG upgrade, depending on how the fit would work

Thanks beforehand for your comments, fly safe

You'd probably want to go for a passive recharge drake, it is much more sustainable. Your ASB will eat a lot of cap charges. the fit would be something like

highs: HAMs, salvager

mids: 2 mission specific hardeners, afterburner, target painter, shield rechargers

lows: 2 shield power relays, 2 BCUs

That fit can tank like 260-300 against the matching rat types, and does 574 dps with CN scourge. If you swap out a BCU for a third SPR it drops down to 476 dps, but goes up to 370-400 dps tank. something like that is what you want.

XL ASB provides burst tank, or buffer.

Drake would not put that burst tank into sensible use due to it's low dps potential in PVE. A slow but steady ship like drake gets more out of continuous tank, because with the anemic dps drake has to tank long.

ASB tank for PVE is generally left for shield boost bonused marauders, which can put it to good use due to their dps (won't need to tank long). On marauders asb is used instead of expensive shield booster to lessen costs.

ASB tank ~could~ in theory work with cap intensive fit like oversized AB speed tanks.

Unless you do FW I doubt it would be decent. With Navy Cap booster charges it would work alright IF you had like MAX DPS. But it would be so expensive to run those charges that it would not be worth it unless you had a bunch of FW LP. On top of that you would need deadspace mods, which is also expensive.
